FVC 1712's Autonomous

This is our robot so far. Our autonomous mode lasts 10 seconds, we'll be at Diamond State FVC Championship Tornament :)

Looks good, now you just need to go find the line get some more balls.

Very impressive! I suspected that method of ball delivery would be too complex to work well, but you guys have shown otherwise. Great work, and good luck at your competition!

Thank you for all the praise! Our auto is not done yet however... there is now a top secret addition to the robot. :ahh: The team will be at the Diamond State Vex Regional Championship (formerly the Delaware State Regional). Hope to see you all there.

Good luck! It looks awesome! Like someone said, driving forwards after scoring and getting more balls, or just into the middle of the field, can prove to be quite effective.

Re: FVC 1712's Autonomous

That is very similar (in both design and autonomous) to FVC 116 (our upper segment of the arm rotates into position differently). My biggest concern would be with after autonomous. We originally had a herding system almost identical to that, and found that it often struggled picking up balls as the match progressed. We have modified our herding system for Diamond State though.
