Designing a new gearbox, Help

1 Attachment(s)
I am the captain and also head of mechincal design on my team. We are trying to prototype a 2 speed trans. but we do not have the luxury of having a well skilled trans. mentor. So i have started to design a 2 speed gearbox on my own. I have an idea what i want. This is what i have so far. So please people with know-how on the matter please put your input on it and give suggestions
the specs are
1st 40 tooth -30 tooth
2nd 50 tooth -20 tooth
both driver gears are being power by two 12 tooth meshing onto the 40 tooth
the shifting mechanism is a ball lock shifter type similar to team 222's tigerdrive.

It looks good. It would help to see a close up on the pockets that the gears have and the shaft that carries the bearings. Also something you have to take into consideration is to add a couple of thousands to the center to center distance (im not sure if you already did) this allows for smother shifting.

It looks great keep up the good work.

I only see two stages, has the second speed been added yet? By the way, make sure whoever machines for you is accurate, or your ball lock system will shred itself. Good luck!

If you could post a diagram with dimensions that'd be useful. Looking at it, it looks like it would work, but that doesn't say much. Nice rendering though
