pool lining-thats a thought!

perhaps the outer edge of the field is pool lining while the inner area will be the "manhole" area of the field(possibly raised?)

as for the "5", i dont know what to think.

I'm having trouble posting the image, but if you look at the clue in chrome, it definately looks like a water game.

I believe I figured out part of the clue.

I saw part of this mentioned in another topic (that I can no longer find)

This is the ishihara test for red-green color blind. Other than to let us know which color-blindness test it is, I believe the 5 is just there to throw us off. Ok, so this may let us figure out that we are dealing either with red/green lights or red/green alliances. I'm assuming red and green lights. To me, the circle looks like diamond plate, and the blue looks like some type of rough water. So this means a....diamond in the rough??? OK, I don't know that one; I'm still figuring it out. I'm fairly certain that's what the 5 and circle means however.

uhh..

I scanned all the IDs from 1-8000 and got the lines that matched [Cc]lue. There were only 7. Three used the word in normal sentences, 3 linked to the clue, 1 was the actual clue.

(and I probably shouldn't scan them again, =\ )

5 is probably there, like last year for the one player that is the backbot out of the 6

My cache expires "Friday, December 22, 2006 11:11:09 PM"

I think that it's just 24 hours after you viewed it first.

In the 5th pros of the song it says:

" Let's go and see the stars
The milky way or even Mars
Where it could just be ours"

Who does this sound like to you?

Closing the loop, Cornell/JPL used "Fly Away" for the launch sequence in this CGI video of the Athena mission to Mars.

Check out how the Athena lander deploys the rover. Could we see a return of the mini-bots of Zone Zeal?

had some photoshop un, gave a bit more definition to the background:

Re: 2007 Official FRC Game Hint / Email Blast

after reading throuh more than 25 pages of speculation, i beleive i have an accurate summary of whats going on:

first off, i think we cna conclude it is not a water challenge. keep in mind that this is still a competitive game and people get pissed when something happens that mkaes them loose. if there is to be water, then there will be a great deal of inconsistancy to deal with. i dont think i even need to explain why i think the 'rogue' robot would be cool but completely NOT GONNA HAPPEN

so here is what is on my sticky note ive been keeping while reading:

-card game theme - (5 of diamonds...)
-step to climb - (the shadow of the circle looks like a step out of a pool)
-platform - (like the step, there is prolly a diamond platofrom somewhere)
-bad crop - puzzle? - (possibly future clues will fit onto this one like a puzzle)
-5 diff height platofroms + steps? - (speaks for itself, kind of)
-50? - (the and the circle makes 50. 50 something i dont know)
-SCREENSHOT - (most likely a cropped screenshot from the animation, -possibly cropped to hide something on the top or bottom of that circle, like it being mounted, and the blue stuff is fuzz to hide the game animation, a human player is barely visible on the right side)
-olympics - (five rings in the olympics? possibly an olympic game theme)
-pool, as in billiards - (that could be a cool game theme, circle looks like pool ball number 5)
-22" in diameter if riges are scaled - (if to scale, the plate would be about this size based on the riges)
-baseball! - (possibly bases activating for points or something? baseball theme quite probabal)
-goals on 4 corners like bb - (more baseball theme, goals on corners + center = 5)
-5 periods - (game play periods, autonomous + 4 more)
-inner tubes - (maybe stacked on poles)
-blue=square - (in the first logo, plus we are overdue for a square challenge - sq, circ, tri, circ, NOW)

thats what i have sumarized, i hope this either enlightens some, or helps others to not have to read quite so thoroughly b4 posting

PS

my personal thoughts: im thinking baseball; with diamond plated weight activated sensors on different sides as bases, points are scored at the end of each period for each of your bases that does NOT have a bot on it. ramps etc to climb over in the middle.

Yes, it has been said many times before, but before you go around creating new threads, it is highly advised that you read through the "Official" thread where all discussion about the 2007 game hint is taking place. And even if you do not read through the entire thread, at least use the in-thread search function.

For example, a quick search for "blindness" brought up this post, on page 6 regarding the ishihara test, which you could have then simply quoted and replied to.

Good stuff..

What about another tangent:

What if the "diamond plate" is actually the moon? five moon? Fifth planet from the sun is jupiter...

what of that?

Re: 2007 Official FRC Game Hint / Email Blast

back to the baseball theme some of you mentioned. Baseball is played on a diamond, home plate has 5 sides, the five is sitting on a circle. In baseball in you have to touch all 3 bases to score or round the bases. So what if the task is you have to do three things (three colour lights, you have to complete on task before going to the next) and touch home plate to score points

blah I don't know
