I'll be honest: My immediate first thought was "Fake!", but I figured what the heck, I'll try to find it. I played around for a good bit, and this is the best I could come up with. I'm not sure how you got it to stick out so well (it's clearly a banana in your version), but props for finding it assuming its not fake.

Top left for reference, top right is a gradient channel map, bottom left is after some playing around with desaturation and adding back in some color, bottom right is inverted and messed with hue.

Hmm, could this be related to the colors we saw on Einstein?

Another idea: Can someone with the capabilities right now, filter the image with the value of the green light?

I thought that bottom right pattern of blue looked wierd. Now just to figure out what the heck the banana means.

Re: pic: Return of the Banana?

I call fake. :)

Although I didn't play around with it yet in photoshop, I don't think that very banana-like stem is in the original photo. I can see where the body of the banana might come from, but not the stem. Also, I can't see where the highlight along the body of the banana would come from either. To me, it looks like sanddrag superimposed a slightly translucent banana on top of an already (mostly) yellow backround, and matched it up nicely with the existing "banana-like" curves and lines in the photo.

Nice try, though. :)

Re: pic: Return of the Banana?

Banana appeared here: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=41024 and here: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/25906 also. I think it means there's climbing to retrieve something. Also, in this game hint, if you take the original http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=41024 and Photoshop it, image, adjustments, autocolor - an image of a hand appears from the right hand side across the image. (Sorry if this was discussed elsewhere - I may have missed it). Thus the "High Five" game is making sense to me. Climb a ramp or something, High Five something at the top to retrieve your "banana" and move on?

Of course, the banana might mean nothing. It could just mean that Dave needs more potassium in his diet. :)

This is definately a shop :)

EDIT: Actually, I take that back... I was completely and totally wrong

After messing around with alpha channels, I found TWO MORE BANANAS! :p

EDIT#2: My bananas are fake. They are purely superimposed Google bananas, and I apologize for any confusion. Edit #1 was only an attempt at sarcasm. Oh well, I'll get better :D

Keep in mind, the name of his company is HavABanana, check the copyrights on the end of the game animations (and even some 116 videos). ;)

Sigh. I was really into the banana thing. Oh well, I guess we can all sing, "Yes, we have no bananas..."

Out of curiosity, what's it like living with him?

Does he constantly play with your head about the game?

Ok, Dave, I'll bite: What is it like living with him? How good is he at trying to get you to slip up?

OffTopic: Anyone know why dave puts that period at the end of his posts? Is there a reason or is it just to make his post long in hopes that people will see and read his post :p

Lots of people have talked about that. Some say it's a game hint. Then again, this time of year everything from dave becomes a game hint.

Re: pic: Return of the Banana?

Its all part of Dave's secret quest for world domination... You see, hes already at phase 2:
Phase 1: Achieve prominence in a large, organized group.
Phase 2: Sadisticly manipulate the minds of youth around the world, thus making them into his minions.
Phase 3: Put secret messages in pictures of diamond plate, the number 5, and bananas that are actually subliminal messages sending forth his brainwashed highschool students into the world to overthrow all forms of society.
Phase 4: In the ensuing chaos, he will gain control with his robot army armed to the teeth with 469-like firepower and all the poof balls in the state of New Hampshire.

Its brilliant, really. And yet, so scary.....

Well, he told us NOT TO TRUST HIM a long time ago and to quote an old adage, "Some things never change.."

On an unrelated note, my favorite reply to that message is by Ken Leung. He puts it in the most eloquent terms possible. ;)

Bananas.... Maybe there's a correlation between this and dave's completely confusing clue with the fish and water...

Re: pic: Return of the Banana?

nnnnnooooooo! The Banana returns!

Cody Carey 22-12-2006 22:22

Re: pic: Return of the Banana?

The banana image is definitely a fake, and this post is for everyone who doesn't think so... I've reproduced the banana image step by step in the following picture, and here is an explanation of the steps:
  1. I lightened the image and increased the contrast -No banana, Hmm...
  2. I selectively replaced the lighter hues of blue with a yellow - no banana, What gives?
  3. I randomly found a banana on google images and put it into the image.
  4. Finally I made the banana semi-transparent, and viola... the finished image
Now, my image is not EXACTLY the same as Sanddrags, bot Without having the same source pictures and tool settings in Photoshop, that is impossible.
This was just to clear up some confusion for those of us who are factoring the banana as part of the image and clue:)

Re: pic: Return of the Banana?

Alright, ya got me. :D But you do have to agree, the original image does kinda look like it might have a banana there.

Cody Carey 22-12-2006 22:32

Re: pic: Return of the Banana?

Yes, VERY clever placement of the banana... You had a LOT of people fooled, :D
