dave is probably just trying to get us to think of water because water shorts stuff out--hence the magic smoke we all fear, and a flame of course

nah, it will be something out of a king arthur story.... there will be a dragon, and the diamond plate circles will be our only forms of protection... like round shields and what not.

mr. plowbot just doesn't have arms, so he can't hold it, which is why he is one of 'the ones that get burned'

Or maybe "burned" is used in the context like "owned"

That was my first reaction. I just think real fire would be way too dangerous.

I mean, think about it. You're testing out some new code in the pit, and suddenly the adjacent booth is on fire. :ahh:

Ah, that happens every now and then anyway. Oh wait...

Our mistake isn't misinterpretation of the clues--it's that you're all assuming these clues are for next year.

In fact, FRC won't have a water game until 2020. The fire game will take place in 2034.

FIRST is following a fourteen year cycle through earth, air, water, and fire. Maize Craze (the 1992 game) represents earth. Aim High (2006, which is 14 years later), represents air because the balls are being shot through air. Clearly, water is clearly next in 2020, 14 years after Aim High. After all, we've been seeing hints about this water game for years.

Now, on a separate thought, don't forget the thing about the jello game. Jello powder mix is flammable.

wait, a jello game? but that would mean a colloid...
where does that fit in... anywhere? maybe its just a transition game...

I know that I have used the word "burned" in a race between objects.

Ex) Man, that Saturn got burned by that Corvette!"

Maybe a game that requires speed? What do you think?

Re: A New Hint from Dave?

How about instead of thinking of burning as in fire, why don't we look at it in a different perspective. It may be burned in the sense that it is damaged or hit a lot. That may mean that the object is heavy and hard i.e. a diamond plate...plate.
