No way... no way... there's going to be some very even alliances at the competition and I see no domination in any match.

When you see the teams that were NOT invited, you really get a feeling for how awesome this IRI field actually is. There are teams that were division semi-finalists in the '07 Championships that didn't make the cut.

Anyone have any idea how the heck the Israeli team is going to get their robot to IRI??

Are they shipping to the high school ahead of time?

I believe they get the award for the most distance ever traveled to come to summer competition... Good luck.

That list of teams scares me. I thought Curie was tough, but with a new algororithim I think we're gonna need to dial 911 because the state of Indiana will be on fire by the time IRI has a winner.

Hey maybe this time the fire alarm will actually be useful then. :D

It is so cool that team 1577 can attend - definitely the long distance award.

They are going to take their robot apart and bring it in their luggage. We will loan them batteries (maybe other teams can also bring along a spare?). We are working out a place for them to rebuilt before Friday morning.

Man, I can't tell when Fultz is kidding and when he's serious. I suppose if there are 10-12 people, each with parts, this could work. We can have an assembly party on the playing field carpet Thursday night. (one year, we watched movies from our sleeping bags on the carpet after IRI setup on Thursday night)

We are working on a shipping setup with BAX Global, who has supported IRI since 2002. Information on this may be a while to come forward (week or two?), since I just started talking to BAX today.

Chris,

Team 1114 would love to help with this assembly party. If you need us, you've got us. This is the kind of thing we love doing.

I'd be up to getting another day off just to help out them put their robot back together! I don't know how my parents or the other people in my group would react... heh.

Wow... how are they going to explain that trying to get through customs?

"What's in your bag?" "A gripper, some ramps, motors, control board, wheels, and lots of metal. It's all fragile and you had better not lose it!!" "Okay, well, um... I don't know what to say. Why didn't you ship it here?" "Would you want to pay shipping from Israel to Indiana? Didn't think so..." *Metal detectors beep loudly* "Okay, I'll have to let you go then."

Oh God, that would be one fun trip. Especially getting into the country.
