Re: [TBA/FIRSTCast] Kickoff Coverage 2007 Posted!
I'm downloading it now...all 170+ megs.
I'll leave comments after I'm done watching. I'm sure you guys did a wonderful job. Comments Lighting is a little dark at first but I doubt that was changeable. I loved when you guys ran in, it was funny and then all the people filling in that was cool. When interviewing the Connie Crawford it seems as if Greg's voice is more right speaker and hers is more left speaker. Again when interviewing Paul Gudonis I have the speaker alternation. Jeff and Greg seem to be on the left one and Paul on the right. "You have inner tubes that are very squishy and they go on like this!" - My favorite line in the whole episode Question: For reference in height of the rack...how tall is Tom? Black screen after Tom says "I believe that's what it called" and then it cuts to Greg. I'm guessing editing error. "Robots are gonna drop it too becuase I dropped it" - Second favorite quote I think I see Elgin? When you're going over the bungee cords I like how you "recreate" the game hint. I was sort of hopeing for that Overall great episode, especially with the time conditions. |

YES! This is what I have been waiting for all day... Its hard to see what moves and what doesn't and stuff from looking at the images in the PDF... Awesome guys!
EDIT: After watching, this video is very informative on the field elements. Like how much the "rack" will move, how the bungee chords are positioned in the chute, etc... AWESOME! |

Grats. Honestly I was excited. I am not a big FIRSTCast person but I did listen to the interviews and I was impressed. That and the pumbing thing were pretty informative. I have been looking forward to this. Thanks for the hard work.

You have Gregs audio feed playing on the right speaker and the guest on the left. Instead of playing them on both. It gets annoying in a way. Maybe dont do it in the future. Good episode though. It tunred out nice, espesially in the amount of time you had.

Whoah, 1276 was the number on the board when you guys were playing with the tubes. I'll take that as a good sign.
Anyways, this video is really cool guys. Now I have some footage to show tommorow so we can see more of how the rack reacts. :) |

Horray for sneaking in the shot. ;)
I'll post the behind the scenes look of The Blue Alliance & FIRST Cast going behind the scenes of Kickoff 2007 I was filming as I was walking by when I get a chance to convert/compress and then upload it somewhere. |
Re: [TBA/FIRSTCast] Kickoff Coverage 2007 Posted!
After personally seeing just how much work these guys put into their video, I have a big apprecation for seeing the final video. Producing such a great, very informative and well structured video in such a short amount of time takes a lot of skill and dedication.
I really think you guys do an awesome job and truly care about the spirit of FIRST. Keep up the good work :) |

LOVE IT!
I downloaded the iPod version before it hit google video, and in the middle of the interview with Paul Gudonis, i got a very LOUD beep, and from then on the audio was off. Otherwise, it's awesome. I can't wait to show the team on monday, so they get more of an idea of how the rack moves. |
Re: [TBA/FIRSTCast] Kickoff Coverage 2007 Posted!
Other than the aforementioned problems, it's great. Seeing the rack and the rest of the field is a great help for me at least.
Thanks guys |
Re: [TBA/FIRSTCast] Kickoff Coverage 2007 Posted!
Yay! i saw myself, haha. well, because i saw the part i was in (I was the long-haired kid describing the map in the beginning), i shouldnt comment on that. but great job on teh rest of the video, very informative, very well editted, and great footage. but as for the speaker channel problem.. yeah, its something to fix for the next video you put out. again, great job :-D
(and just wait til you see the map we have for nationals ;-) ) |
Re: [TBA/FIRSTCast] Kickoff Coverage 2007 Posted!
For at least the iPod version (now encoded by Google Video, and not Videora), there should be no audio channel issues, nor random loud beeps. The other two versions both have their audio channels fixed as well, so the disorientation should be gone.
Turns out Greg didn't check which speaker was wired to the right channel and which to the left while editing :D |
Re: [TBA/FIRSTCast] Kickoff Coverage 2007 Posted!
All I can say is Great job you guys. I can tell that you put a lot of hard work into putting this whole thing together. Its quite an accomplishment to drive to the site, videotape and do all of the behind the scenes stuff, drive back, and then edit the video. Awsome!

Re: [TBA/FIRSTCast] Kickoff Coverage 2007 Posted!
Wow, we even got featured on FIRST's website!
Thanks to everyone to helped us out at Kickoff, the final video turned out really great. We hope you all found it helpful and informative, and we hope to be able to keep doing it in the future. I wonder what we'll do next... Maybe draw some inspiration from a television company founded in Connecticut as we cover the Connecticut regional? |
