Wildstang: Done

Well after hours of painstaking camping outside of their motorola warehouse, i have managed to get a photo of Wildstangs 2007 robot. From what I saw, in autonomous it picks up all three opponents at once and places them inside the rack and then scores all possible 892 points by themselves.

either that is some really nice photoshop work or somebody knew the game before the rest of us.

Those are parts of two old wildstang bots photoshopped together.

Re: Wildstang: Done

I may be missing something, but how are you arriving at 892 points?

There are 21 possible tubes, allowing for 2 rows of 8 and 1 row of 5. Vertically, that gives you 5 columns of 3 and 3 columns of 2.

2*256 + 1*32 + 5*8 + 3*4 = 596

Then even if they pick up all 5 other robots on the field, that's 746. Are there other point-scoring I'm missing, or is there a more optimal rack arrangement?

For some reason I knew somebody would make a post like this today... heh. That makes me happy. Because if nobody made a post like this within a week... I was going to have to make one to keep my sanity. *pause*

You had me at the description. You don't pick up opponents in autonomous mode :p

Thats what seperates Wildstang from the rest of the field....

So, wait, this isn't a real robot? It's just photoshopped together?

Speaking of a sign, I just now checked, and I currently have -111 rep. marks. Odd...

Ha! That's not a bad photoshop job =P

When i looked at it i was like :ahh: HOW DID THEY DO THAT SO FAST... then i started to think about it... and i read some of the other posts and i could breathe again =P

If some team built their robot in 2 days... it would either be a) an awesome team or b) a hastilly built robot
and since 111 is a awesome team i thought it was possible =P

hahaha! nice try but anyone who did a little bit of reasearch would see that that was a combination of their 2001 robot and an arm that is not a part of any previous 111 robot...

We're actually in the planning stage right now. Any ideas for which music?

The song name is appropriate for the days winding down to ship date.

Bongle,

Your analysis is correct. 892 and points would be the maximum score if an alliance could fill the entire rack with tubes.

3*2^8 + 8*2^3 + 60 = 892

Of course, as you pointed out, alliances only have 21 scoring tubes. The person who came up with 892 probably missed this fact.

by the way it's 24 tubes 8*3=24
your were thinking of 7 legs per spider

Re: Wildstang: Done

both sides only get 18 tubes, so that is the maximum amount there can be for one side...

You're almost right. Each side has a total of 18 Ringers, but they start autonomous with 3 Keepers. Hence, 18+3=21 total tubes.

Sgraff_SRHS06 17-01-2007 00:19

Re: Wildstang: Done

The 892 requires three Ringers or Keepers to be generated by magic! :D But 596, when you guys play against a sucky alliance of robots that can only drive and not do much else. The bad news is that it is a hit in the standings from a rank point standpoint.

But as for dance music. Try "19-2000" by Gorillaz. If the NFL Cheerleaders had to make dance routines to that, then you can too! Then....you guys can hit on 'em and show 'em YOUR dance moves! :p

Oh what a fitting song... Ladies and Gentlemen by Saliva. But please don't use it... I have big plans for it.

I think we all have to realize that this means scoring one tube every six seconds. that alone would be pretty cool.
