EasyC in crossover

Has anyone had any success with installing EasyC in a Wine type of environment (either mac/linux)? When I tried to install it it crashed right at the end, and displayed a simple display box saying it cannot start.

Kyle,
It's great to hear that you are trying out easyC! easyC works in Parallels or BootCamp. We are still working on functionality with Wine, and we will let you know when it is ready.

Thanks,
JAB

I couldn't tell from your post what your host system was, but it works well in VMWare Server which is free for Linux users. So you could install a windows VM with VMWare, then install all the easyC tools and you'll be in business.

I actually have an Intel Mac OS X system that is running the latest version of crossover (6.0 final). Yes I can have a virtualization or a dual boot situation, but that would require a windows license. The cheapest windows solution is about $90 (newegg (no upgrade)). Crossover is actually pretty amazing software considering how difficult it is reverse engineer APIs. I don't expect it to run soldworks, but it has done a good job in running some simple apps.

I tried to get Dar-Wine to work but if keeps crashing out. I saw someone running easyC for FRC this summer in linux but I don't know how he did it.

I'm going to close this thread. I started a new thread for the easyC Darwine challange :) !
