How much of a practice field is your team planning on setting up this year?

Re: How much of a field?
Some of the teams in the Greater Seattle area have rented a warehouse and will have a full-sized practice field available for most of the build season.
Individually, our team is mocking up one small section of "The Rack," as we don't have space to store anything as large as this field element. |
Re: How much of a field?
We built a secton of the rack and will using half of our drafting room for testing,

Re: How much of a field?
We sent up the full course every year and then host a "mini-regional" which is held the last weekend before ship.

Re: How much of a field?
We have a full rack and what seems to be between a 1/2 to full field more towards the full field length.
|
Re: How much of a field?
We'll just be mocking up one section of the rack.

Re: How much of a field?
We already have a rack, but we have enough carpet for most of the field so we might make a full field.

Re: How much of a field?
We only ever build just the scoring feature of the game, One goal for the tetras, A hole attached to the wall last year, and we are going to build just one vertical row of spiderlegs. If we could build a whole field we would, but i think its kind of to much trouble

Re: How much of a field?
We're almost done with our rack. We're going to play the game before we design our robots - hopefully this will help us with unforseen gameplay strategies.
In order to recreate the robot experience, we'll have the human "bots" perform the tasks with their eyes closed, only acting out the orders given by the "drivers" 25 feet away. |

Re: How much of a field?
We're building one complete 1/3-scale rack for prototyping ideas and strategy with Vex robots and one half (more or less, final dimensions TBA) of a full-scale rack for testing and practicing with our FRC robot.
