Re: Pillow Block Bearings
Depending on your use igus might be good for things. Their a lot lighter but are weaker. I dont recomend you use them for drive but places away from direct contact are were these pieces shine.

Re: Pillow Block Bearings
How about pillow block bearings for main drive components? I'd like cast iron, sealed (no zerks), bearings already put in that accepts 1/2" keyed shaft.

Re: Pillow Block Bearings
If you are using the banebots gearboxes (the ones that came in the kit of parts), they sell 1/2" bearings. http://www.banebots.com/pc/FIRST/PB-S5002-BB

If your sprocket is going to be near the bearings, you can probably get away without supporting the Banebot 56mm transmission gearbox but why risk it? The bearing block is $12.50. Use it. You'll sleep better at nights. Joe J. |

Re: Pillow Block Bearings
Pillow block bearings may also be purchased from W. W. Grainger, McMaster Carr, or Stock Drive Products. Check them out on the web. You may have a Grainger Dealer close by.
