Overall electric help

So,
Nobody on my team really knows what they are doing in regards to the electrical systems, and we can't find just a general guide or manual for how to assemble the parts. I looked through the forums, and couldn't find an all around getmymotorsmoving page. Maybe I'm missing a sticky, but we can't figure this out.
Thanks,
-Asa

Well, how much do you need to know?

I'd suggest that you first take a look at the Electrical schematic at http://www2.usfirst.org/2007comp_173...ON_DIAGRAM.pdf

That shows all of the basic circuitry that you will potentially use, and how FIRST wants it to be wired.
For more of the regulations on the wiring, see http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles...0The_Robot.pdf
The electrical section starts at about page 21 onwards.

If you really need more basic help, just say so. I could write up a bare-bones tutorial on wiring some drive motors if you really need it, but I'll make sure that you're really asking for that much before I go and type it. :)

Asa,
The Tips and Guidlines document on the FIRSTS website is intended for you to use as adjunct to the robot manual. I highly recommend that all teams download all of the manual and copies of the other documents to a computer that is accessible to team members for immediate reference. If you have any other problems or questions, please PM me and I will answer what I can.

I'll go you one better, and suggest that the team members that are actually going to install the electrical system, PRINT the robot rules, the KOP checklist, all the diagrams and tips and guides, and put them in a 3 ring notebook, and keep it with them at all times. As you learn other things, you might want to write them down on paper in the notebook.

Working from a bunch of paper is easier for me than working from words or images on a computer display.

Thank's for the good starting points, we need to order a breaker and then we're set for parts. Does anyone how long does ifirobots.com take to ship?
