Help on the vacuum system
Does anyone know how to set up the vacuum cup/system? I can't find any instructions with the kit. I would highly appreciate any and all help.

Re: Help on the vacuum system
There are instructions, or at least a diagram, in the plastic package that the vacuum stuff came in. (I'm doing this from memory, so take it with a grain of salt.) In short, screw the metal connector into the suction cup, run a hose to the red knob side of the Venturi, run a hose out the other side (the one with the switch-looking thingie) to a valve in your pneumatics system.

Re: Help on the vacuum system
Hello, we are trying to figure out how the suction cup is connected to our pnuematics system so I was possibly wondering if you could include an image of how to connect the suction cup to a basic pnuematic system. Thank you and happy building!!

I really like the vaccuum system, it's a neat little toy that they include in the KOP, but we'll probably use an active gripper for the game. |

Re: Help on the vacuum system
This diagram shows what the ports connect to. To use the one with the switch looking thing just push in the black ring around it(a standard quick release fitting) and pull out the plug(switch looking thing). Also, an easy way to reduce the tubing size(the vacuum system uses smaller tubing than the rest of the pnuematics) is to put a standard size quick release on the input side of a regulator and a smaller quick release(for the vacuum size tubing) in the output side since you should take the pressure down to 26psi for best performance anyway.

Re: Help on the vacuum system
I am sorry but I still don't know where to go out the side with the switch looking things? Does anyone have a more specific diagram, does get hooked up to a spike, or what type of valve? I already have a pneumatic system on the robot with one pneumatic rod. How can I make the suction cup fit into my system.

Re: Help on the vacuum system
The input from compressed air in the photo above goes to a solenoid. When the solinoid is energised the compressed air goes to the vacuum generator.
Hope this helps. |
Re: Help on the vacuum system
Call me stupid but I am still lost, what is the vacuum generator, is that the black peice in the KOP. Or do you have a diagram so I can picture it. Thanks for the help.

Re: Help on the vacuum system
that is the piece in the KOP you have to use the thin green tubing that comes with it. Attach one end to the compressor, and the other to the suction cup, and then activate the compressor. it should generate a fairly strong vacuum. ours held a ring for 10 min before we got bored

Re: Help on the vacuum system
Thank you, that helps a lot. I was just so lost.
