2007 Los Angeles Regional
 

The Los Angeles Regional Committee is pleased to announce that there WILL be a Team Social on Friday night of the Regional. This will be the first time since 2001 that we have had a team social.

Because we are still in negotiations with the site of the social, we cannot give further details at this time. But we are far enough along that we can be sure it will happen. Really, we are discussing what things we want and how much we are willing to spend to get them.

Many thanks to those who have been diligently working to ensure that the Los Angeles Regional is not only fully funded, but that we also have enough money for the Social. This is the result of patient effort over several years by several people.

I believe you mean 2002, in which the social was right out back, and we had music, and a big inflatable thing, and sumo suits, and so on. But anyhow, this is great news. :)

Wouldn't you know it? I hate getting "old"! Being able to come in 2005 was a blast, 2007 should be even more spectacular, at least sunny beaches, six flags or disneyland and a team social beat 20 odd centimetres of snow and midterms. Have fun everyone!

Team 1388 has been wanting to do LA for a couple years now, and we're extremely excited to be a part of it this year.

Hey, I will be running the Robot FIRST Aid Station again. If any teams want a special request for me to put on the database or if they have any suggestion, feel free to contact me.

For those who are new to LA Regional or what we do, the FIRST Aid Station is a database that 599 does of what everyone at regionals brings, to which if a team needs a part, we tell them which teams need the part. As well, we have experienced students go out to teams who have not passed inspection and/or are not finished with the robot and give them an extra hand or some advice of how to fix problems.

We are already updating the list and adding a new section so if your team has some expertise that you would like to help other teams with, we can include that when teams ask for help.

The team social was fun back in 2002 (sumo wrestling), so Im glad they brought it back for my final year as a student. See all you guys/girls at the the regional in a few weeks.
