Hand-me-down parts

This year is our first year in FRC for my school and we have been recieving a generous outpouring of support from the local teams. We were given some wheels, 80/20, and plenty of advice from other teams. One of these parts, however, is custum built by the team for "Aim High". Is this part going to be allowed for use on our robot this year? It is a bearing case for the axels, the bearings being store bought and the plexiglass mount custom made.

It should be fine as long as you include the cost of the part, bearing and the plastic.

Whoa... no. The "custom mount" for those bearings would not be allowed. It was custom fabricated outside of the 2007 build period, and therefore, illegal.

The 8020 is considered raw material, or COTS, as are the bearings and (unmodified) wheels. Advice is always given for free, but it may cost you something in the end...

This is not true. Please read Team Update Number 2

OK, the question was about the bearing mounts, just wanted to double check.

Thanx,
Chris
