Sign-up. Things will be based on first-come, first-serve until a final list of teams is present. With the number of teams currently pending, there will be 61 teams but there may be the usual 65-66 teams (I'm not sure, though.) Tenatively there will be 15 spots but in the next couple of weeks with four teams a piece. That may change.

Draft begins March 8 at 7:00 PM.

The draft will be conducted like this: You start at 7:00 PM and can draft any team and trade until Thursday 3/15 at 7:00 for those of you that actually get out to the competition and see the practie field. I'll be running pretty much a loose ship in terms of times. Just everyone make sure you have your picks by then. I'll give dates on when you need to pick a first or second round pick by a little later; and everyone will have up to 11:59:59 PM of the day I say (or you guys say) to do it.

Officially there are 58 teams. There will be 19 players in the draft with 3 teams a piece. Players can select 1 additional WILD-CARD team that has already been drafted (or yet to be drafted) as long as THE SAME PLAYER has not already drafted it for another alliance or another player has not selected that team for his/her wildcard.

Uhmmm. Those pick times don't look so good. We have a regional that weekend and I plan to be in bed at 3 in the morning and I'm going to get up and go to competition. Not hang out at CD.

Those are deadlines for when the round ENDS .

For the second round, it begins almost as soon as the first round ends, so if you happen to be on CD during the day or access a computer during the social.

The third round and wild card will follow in this manner. It's an attempt to be as fluid as possible to give players the time they need to make selections while making sure the draft goes on and ends before competition begins.

What it means is that you all will have a couple days exclusively devoted to trading. And you can trade at whim, just post what you and the party your trading with has agreed to.

I will make an additional statement. The picks were completely random. If you wish to swap the draft order in any round, you may do so until whoever is #1 picks and you may trade draft spots for LATER rounds until the present round ends (for instance, you can shift your spot in the WILD CARD round during the first round AT ANY POINT) as long as both parties agree and and are fine with it. EDIT: I may have learned that 602 may not be competing this year. They were only signed up for Chesapeake regional and appear to have removed their name from the event with one team pending. Either that, or FIRST has reclassified them until they get a deposit from 602. So you can't pick 602 for any pick unless they are reconfirmed or the replacement pending team (maybe a rookie team) is known.

I would like to be able to moderate it better during impending mid-terms. But hey, if you want to do it during the week, it has to go really quick and people need to send in lists. People may feel too constrained, especially from those teams travelling somewhere else on Wednesday. So, that's why.
