prayers and support from team 1345

It saddens me to say that a member of our very own, Team 1345- The Platinum Dragons, is very ill. Arefin Bari has been stuck upon by a serious health condition which may disrupt the contribution he makes to the team and the FIRST community.
It is very hard to summarize Arefin's contribution to FIRST in a few sentences but he is always trying to push others to their maximum potential and strives to be the best while still upholding integrity and gracious professionalism. Arefin continues to inspire many other young minds from a day to day basis.
He will be admitted to the hospital tomorrow (the 25th) in order to receive a test which may decide his future presence in FIRST. I believe the least we can do for Arefin is to send him our prayers and support while he is struggling through the roughest part of his life. Who knows, he might not have a temper for once...lol

Thank You, Aakash Gihwala (Team 1345)

Fin. From the first time you shared this news with me a few weeks back I have been both speechless about what you are going through, and also concerned as well even though I may not have been able to chat with you as much as I can lately.

I may not have all the answers for you buddy, but by taking this huge personal step tomorrow I hope it will lead to the answers you seek and then a speedy recovery.

We will all be waiting to hear from you, and thinking about you in your time of need.

Keep in touch!
Hopsital better have wi-fi darn it!
Right? :D
if not, we are only a phone call or text message away buddy!

Sincerely,
Elgin Clock and all your friends on 237.

I may not have had much contact with you, but watching your team and designs has been a huge inspiration to me. Also, several comments you've made have been the sole reason I stayed active here on CD. And so I'm behind you with all my well wishes and prayers. Semper Geekus, man!

You always seem to be straightforward and speak your mind; I like that, good luck and get well soon. I know how much it can suck to be in the hospital, so get well.

Arefin,

I'm scrolling down these posts and recognizing all of the names and I'll add mine even though it's only that of a newbie to the community that you've never spoken to. Don't forget that there are a great many people who come to chiefdelphi without much advice to give, simply to find out some helpful information or see how else they can tackle their technical problems. In that respect, I feel like I've known you for a good long while, and I know I'm not the only one. I, and surely every quiet chiefdelphi member, hope that you feel better.

:]

Arefin,

While I don't know you in person... I can't help but think that I've grown to know you over these forums. The person that I know is kind, thoughtful, courageous, and just an all-around good guy. You continuously help everyone you can out, and don't give up when somethings not going your way. So I'm just saying that my team and I would all be proud to meet you at the next competition we both attend... when you get better here in a couple of days that is.

Seriously though, take the time you need to recover. Health comes before everything, even FIRST - we'll all be waiting here with open arms when you're ready!

I know he was concerned about telling to everyone because of the way he is, a lil stubborn at times. But I hope he can see that so many people care about him and I am glad you all do. It is hard to find really good friends but I know in FIRST there are so many people out there that care about one another. So thank you for all caring and being good friends to one another on the field and off. We all have moments of disagreement but in sad times likes these the FIRST community seems to pull together. It just makes the outlook of some situations a lil bit better knowing how wondering the FIRST community is.

Arefin, I hope you feel better soon :)

Re: prayers and support from team 1345

Wow, over 60 posts in this thread? I gotta say that I didn't expect this.

... it isn't AS serious as it sounds. I am fine. For over half a year I would get pain in the backside of my head. Finally I decided to get it checked out. The cause of the pain is being purely stress. I went through some testings today, I will get results back early next week, but I am not worried.

I am doing a lot better now as far as stress goes. I don't think I will be leaving FIRST (that's what I was worried about if I was told that I need to make my workload less in order for me to not to be stressed out), I can't literally afford to leave something like FIRST.

Tytus came over tonight, I had a long conversation with him about what has been going on and how I have been reacting to things. After talking things out with him, I believe I am in much better position right now than I was earlier today in the morning.

Friends really help when you are breaking down from all sides, Tytus showed me that tonight, so did every single one of you. Reading this thread brighten up my day and I am so glad that I have friends' support when I need it the most.

As far as health condition goes, I am strong enough to handle it. Nothing will happen to me. This also showed me how much my team cares about me. Never thought this is the way they felt. All I can say is thanks for every single one of your support.

... if I never left in first place, you guys won't have to worry about looking for me in future. See you guys at competitions.
