Oh no... a broken antenna...

Ok, someone broke the RC antenna on our chassis and it wasn't me...

Anyhow, does anyone know where I might find a replacement antenna or will
we have to buy a new RC remote unit?

Also, didn't see anything in the rule book but would a replacement antenna on this unit be dis-allowed?

Please advixe

Thanks

We broke ours as well. For now, we've got an antenna from an old OI radio in it's place.

Or, try coat hangars. No rule against that! :D

Try soldering it around the ends, then putting tape around it to reinforce it.

If that doesnt work for you, get an antenna off something similar or use a good old fashion coat hanger. :)

IFI sells them at www.ifirobotics.com for about $8 w/o tax HOWEVER I would not suggest taking apart the unit since it is under warranty and any more accidental damage to it may void the warranty, So you can use a Coat Hanger, Purchase the Antenna from IFI or contact IFI and see what they can do so that the warranty stays intact.

the antenna is basically just slipped over a brass joint. depending where its broken, and i assume its very near the joint, just remove the broken piece either on a lathe or by dremel and slip the remaining piece over it and centre punch it back on. thats what we did

use sand paper to get the top layer of chrome or whatever it is to get done to the brass then solder is back together worked very good for us.
