Who needs the standard IFC dashboard interface?

Team 1155 programming department is working on a custom dashboard interface in perl. This will be a project open to suggestions and editing, so if your interested, as me about it. Right now, we are working on getting the Win32:CommPort module to work so that it could communicate with the dashboard port. Next, comes the parsing of the data packets... and everyone loves to parse.

Is there anyway to get the PWM analog port readings on the dashboard? Say for example if you were receiving a numerical response from the analog port, could you get those numbers to show up on the dashboard? --Not to hijack this thread, but is there a supplied dashboard for this year's OI/RC?

There's no direct way to get it, you would have to assign the value of the analog input to one of the pwm outputs or one of the user_bytes, which are sent to the dashboard. There is not a seperate supplied dashboard for this year I don't think, but the last release does work with this year's OI/RC.

The dashboard from last year still works.

Also I believe seanwitte posted code to their .NET dashboard last year. So you may want to look at it. You could write controls in any .NET language that would handle the data, but the actual parsing was already done for you.

of course the one from last year still works, but its not customizable. And there is a way to the state of a pwm through the dashboard... its all in the data packets.
