Since no one's made a pit scouting sheet yet...

Re: 2007 Scouting Sheet

We are scouting on a robot/round basis rather than a robot/regional basis. We put all of the information for that round for a particular robot on 1 sheet (1/3 of a sheet) and when done, file it away.

Later that night, I combine all of the data and put it in an excel file for easy viewing.

It is our first year trying this system so hopefully it will work out.

I'm currently working on a scouting sheet, but I still need a little help. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for the matches, as to how I can create a scouting sheet for that. I'd really appreciate it a lot. Thanks a lot.

What are the robots supposed to do? Break that down into individual tasks, then put those tasks into an Excel spreadsheet or something similar. Weight each item depending on your robot's capabilities and you're all set, other than giving a copy to each of six match scouts.

Typically teams use pit scouting info just as a quick reference and treat it as secondary to match scouting. THe more info you have the less often you need to send some one to get more info right before a match.

that is true, but having a separate scouting sheet for the matches and for the pit area is also helpful when looking at alliances because the scout can see if what another team said about their robot was really true. you know, if the robot succeeded its expectations.

Here's what 662 will be using.

Focus is on significantly reduced paper-work, ease-of-use, important information available at a glance, and aesthetic appeal.
