The Rack movement

Is the entire rack moved at the beginning of the round? if so do the lights also move with it or are they stationary? Or is it that they just shake the spiders before each round? Thanks for your help.

Yes, the rack is moved before the beginning of every match after the teams set up their robot. The lights will stay in the same location on the rack above the spider legs.

The rack is rotated somewhere between 0 and 45 degress (I am guessing) before the match is started. This causes the spider legs to change location, along with the lights above them.

It can be rotated as much as the field crew wants, but because it is symmetrical every 90º, it effectively has 45º of rotation.

also, if you observe the movement of the spider legs...
the top leg moves horizontally the least of all 3 levels of legs
followed by the second level's horizontal movement
followed by the bottom level's horizontal movement!

this means that it may possibly be easyer to score on the top level during autonomus mode... although the dampening time for the rack is around 10 seconds, maybe more if they really turn it!

Don't foget there is 6 inches of play in the chain and it can move side to side and front to back +-6 inches.
