PARC X!!! Pennsylvania robot Challenge

Team 222 will be hosting our tenth annual competition on May 12th. We are still working out details and entry fees (expect them to be lower).

Help us make PARC X the best yet! Let us know what teams want to see.

Further details will be posted as they come.

Cliff

I love PARC one of my favorite Off season events. I hope that I can make it this year.

Re: PARC X!!! Pennsylvania robot Challenge

Time to blow the dust off this thread.... We're still working out the details of PARC X. The registration cost will now be $200 instead of $250. We're working on making this event really special and hope a bunch of great teams can help us out.

For more information, check out our website. http://www.tigertrons.com/2007/parc/parc.htm

Your team can register using this link as well, however I'm not sure whether our forms work with firefox....I know this has been a problem in the past.

Good luck to teams in the rest of the regular season and hope to see lots of teams start signing up for PARC!

I'll be there with bells on...well maybe not bells, but at least a hawaiian shirt and colored hair.

Should I send someone an email to make it official? Or will this be good enough?

1629 has the word out to all of the team members, finally, our meeting was canceled on Monday evening due to the weather so.......I hope that it is not too late!!!!! I would say by tomorrow (thursday) we should know something!!! Any suggestions on hotels up there???

Rabbit222 18-04-2007 23:55

Re: PARC X!!! Pennsylvania robot Challenge

The closest hotel near our competition is the Shadowbrook Resort. I recommend getting in contact with the resort as soon as possible. They may have reservations available for your team. If the availability is limited, or the price is too high for your liking, let me or another Tigertron member know what you are looking for in your hotel, how many will attend, your price limits etc. We'd love to help in any way we can!!

Re: PARC X!!! Pennsylvania robot Challenge

What do you need as far as Volunteers are concerned?

camtunkpa 19-04-2007 08:37

Re: PARC X!!! Pennsylvania robot Challenge

mtaman02 I think we are mainly looking for volunteers to do reffing and field reset. If you have anything else you would be interested in PM me and I'll email our corrdinator to find out if we need help.

Teams 103 and 365 have signed up for PARC!!

1629 there are still plenty of spots open for PARC. Like Brian said if Shadowbrook is too high there are other hotels in the area.

mtaman02 19-04-2007 14:21

Re: PARC X!!! Pennsylvania robot Challenge

If I can get a ride from NYC to PA and back then I can help out with the Field Repair / Reset. I will let you know as soon as I can get a confirmed ride. I would make the drive myself but I have to work that night so I don't want to tire my self out too badly if I can help it. God I hate Drive Fatigue.

Well, I have submitted the online form for the challenge!!!! We will be coming up the the night before, but not until after school lets out. If we get there in time we would be more than happy to help set up, we will probably stay in Scranton or somewhere around that area, as the hotels seem to be a little cheaper!!!!!:ahh: We look forward to havin some fun at PARC!!!!!

THIS JUST IN!

Coming straight from the PARC planners, all teams bring your bathing suits to PARC! We will be offering a three hour open swim to the community and attending teams during PARC.

Also I believe we still have room for 9 teams.

Hope to see everyone at the PARC!

Yes, I am getting together all the equipment needed for 3 camera coverage of PARC as well as what's needed to interface the scoring system chroma-keys. Thankfully, the system I have has a network connector built in for webcasting. I'm trying to get some people from school to come up to do cameras, but if there are any good camera volunteers, I'd be willing to give you a shot.

This would make a great T-shirt design!

Re: PARC X!!! Pennsylvania robot Challenge

I'm not sure on the price of the T-shirts. I think they are either $10 or $12 but don't quote me on it.

As Greg mentioned team 73 will be attending PARC and teams 339 and 1656 are not going to be able to make PARC.

Bill, I agree that the coloring sheet would have made a great shirt, but we do ahve our shirt logo posted here http://www.tigertrons.com/2007/parc/tshirt.htm

We are setting up the arena tomorrow night, wiring on Thursday, and doing a demonstration for the grade schools on friday. I can't wait for PARC!

No Problems here!!! Had to re-connect once but that was about it. Don't they have 3 different servers setup? Try a different one and see what happens.

Are you using the Webcast - External Player link? I've been viewing it all day with no problems at all. Interesting video work - Good quality video and sound, 3 fixed camera angles, all fairly wide - no nauseating upside down views or zoom ins. Good job, PARC!

The servers for shinraikon.com are down at the moment, as I had to bring them back from PARC, I plan on having them back up and running within the week.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to PM me.:D

A big THANK YOU to the organizers and volunteers at PARC this weekend! The event ran very smoothly and the matches were exciting.

And happy TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

You guys were the role model for many off-season events in the Mid-Atlantic. Thanks!

Congratulations to 25, 103, and 1071. Losing to you isn't really losing!

Thanks to 1219 for choosing us and to 1989 for joining us. We had a great run to the finals!

Fred and Scott, thanks to you and your crew. It was a great event and lots of fun! What a way to kick off the post-season!

Thanks to our alliance partners 103 and 1071. A special thanks to Cliff from 222 for helping me out in a time of need. It was a great competition but very unfortunate we had to hear the news about Mike Wade in the middle of the day.

I may look into putting PARC X on DVD. Although 8 hours and 40 minutes of competition would have to be a multi-disc set. I was busy paying attention to what was actually on the screen rather than what was going on. So tell me, what matches you you include in a highlight reel?

If anyone is interested in cutting through the matches, we'll happily host it on the The Blue Alliance. I don't think too many people want all ~9 hours of it, and mostly are just interested in the matches.

Congrats to all the teams that participated at this year’s PARC. Every team’s robot had a fantastic showing and all competed like crazy throughout the entire competition. I would like to give thanks to the PARC committee and Team 222 for letting me emcee this competition. I had an amazing time introducing the teams and partaking in some play by play robotic action. Overall, I had an amazing time at the 10th Annual PARC and what a great start for 2007 off-season competition season.

I would be willing to splice up the matches, same way as NJ. Just host the full file and I will split them up.

A great job to all the teams at PARC. Our team, team MAX (1071), would really like to thank ALL of the teams that helped us during the competition.
Team 871
Team 2234
Team 84
For loaning us their RC radios during the qualifying rounds
Team 11
Team 1143
For loaning us their RC radios during the elimination rounds. All of you saved our day with you helpfulness.

Team 25
Team 103
For picking us as the third team in their alliance. Winning was great but either way we would have had fun playing alongside you guys.

I just want to say thanks to all the great teams and great volunteers who made this event what it was. Special thanks to 316 and 73 for picking us.

So now that it's over we want to know what we could do to make your experience better. Also, could we pick a better time of year to hold PARC. We need to hear your suggestions to improve.

Thanks again!

I should have the servers with the PARC X video back up in the next 36 hours. I will try to set up an on demand web cast, or work on seperating the competition into more manageble segments. I don't know what quality my copy is, I know the copy the my friend who worked with me has a copy htat is HD quality, but is ~150Gb file size.:D

Servers are currently up and an on-demand web cast is available for viewing. Sorry for the quality, I have limited upload bandwidth. I have also put the entire day on to a two disk DVD set. This set is not the high quality version, but a lower quality version that roughly matches what the web cast on May 12 was. I also found the problem with the rank and match results pages being password protected and have removed them so anyone can view them now. :)
