it's a concept model, made of steel....the real thing would have been made of 14 or 16 gage aluminum

so how would it work?

MrForbes 08-02-2007 12:22

Re: pic: 1726 ramp idea

there would be one at the end of each of two narrow ramps, they would pop out to the side as the ramps deploy, so that the driver trying to get a robot on the ramp would have a wider target to drive onto, and the rest of the ramp could be relatively narrow and light.

How much wheel base width variance are you accounting for? Would it work with robots that have the wheel base the long or short way in the starting footprint?

Re: pic: 1726 ramp idea

From a poll GUI conducted a while back, we figured that about 3/4 of the robots would be able to get on our ramp if it could accomodate track widths from 24" to just under 28"

But since it's mostly an arm bot, that's acceptable....

How tall is your bot?

MrForbes 08-02-2007 14:59

Re: pic: 1726 ramp idea

not tall enough! :)

Plan is to make it 5' unless we have to go 4' for some unknown reason, but the change is very simple to make, no extra fabrication required.

That still remains to be determined. We have the option to be either 4' or 5'.
