As I was sitting here watching Short Circuit 2, I decided to post about it. So what your favorite robot movie? I know there are quite a few, I just can't remember them all.

umm...

I think, right now, even though it was depressing, I'll have to go with Bicentennial Man. I liked that movie. :-) Hmm...Star Wars kicked some booty too though. And I love The Jetsons (Rosie kicked some booty too) and I'm pretty sure they made that into a movie. :-)

Nope. It's one of the really good one's. Short Circuit 2 is still really good, but I will agree the first one is better.

Can you believe the movie is 15 years old?

Matt Leese 04-06-2001 08:37

What?! No one likes Transformers?! Not only are they robots but they transform too! How cool is that? Ok, so it's not my favorite but it still is a pretty cool tv show/movie. ;)

Matt who is seriously bored b/c he's copying from 5 1/2" disks to a hard drive....

Elgin Clock 04-06-2001 12:18

What about the classics???

C'mon don't you guys know of Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet or Robot-B9 From Lost in Space, the original tv show not the cheesy movie version. And who can forget "Klatu Nickto Baracktu" from The Day the Earth Stood Still. But the coolest one is PAL from the smash hit "2001 FIRST Nationals in FLA"!!!

mpking 04-06-2001 22:10

Actually, there was a robot Named PAL on Tv.

(Found this while looking for the above Johnny five picture)

Here's the text from the picture.

Quote:

Eric also showed me PAL the little robot which had earned him the job to build Number Five. Very ironically, this little robot was later used in the final episode of the TV show The Wizard. He played a robot character named H.E.N.R.I. VIII, he was the eighth prototype of an intelligent robot which had been designed by the Wizard, who was played by the late David Rappaport. The robot was even equipped with a little laser gun. The show aired in the spring of 1987 and was an obvious knock-off of Short Circuit! It was hoped that the idea of adding the robot character might save the show from eminent cacellation. It's too bad that the plan didn't work because I love the episode, for obvious reasons, and I surely would have continued to watch the show with the robot on it.
Keep in mind this was off a site dedicated to Johnny five, and the man in the picture is the one who built both PAL and Johnny five.

Here's his car

One of the best jokes in a movie - the buddhist ordering the hot dog - priceless!

I loved the TV show about the family with a robot-girl - I think it was called "Small Wonder." Mid-to-late 80's.

Could Inspector Gadget be considered a robot? Don Adams ruled.

I'm surprised to see that nobody has brought up any of the following:I think I'll still give the top slot to Short Circuit, but Big Hero 6 and Wall-E are a close second & third.
