Magnetic Reed Switches...

I had a quick question about exactly how to wire these. Do we just wire them directly in line with the solenoid or is there another specific wiring diagram because i am not seeing it anywhere? Thanks for the help.

Do not wire it in-line with the solenoid! You should wire it to a digital I/O pin on the RC, in the same configuration that you'd use for a limit switch.

Wiring it in line is no good.

On a semi-interesting side note, though... Instead of wiring the 120 psi pressure gauge as a digital in, you can just put it in-line with the compressor on any non-FIRST bot. This is Illegal in FIRST. It's nice to be able to do this when you have limited access to programming on old Basic RCs, but is kinda useless for newer brains...

ok, so does that mean we wire it active high? black to ground, red to hot?

I'm not totally sure what your terminology means, but you should wire the red on the switch to the white on a PWM cable, and the black to the black.

Just like any other switch, between the signal and ground pins. Since it's a switch, there's no polarity to the device.
