Teams helping teams
I would like to thank team 157 for letting us use their field to test out our robot. The only problem was the wood they used at the end of the PVC. we broke 3 of them testing the robot. it took a while before we got it right and not rip the wood apart. It is good that the real field has diamond plate.
I would like to know how many teams out there have other teams close to them that help each other out. With teams like this help out everybody so thanks again team 157 and we will see you in FL. |

Re: Teams helping teams
In 2006 at the NYC Regional, rookie team 1772 from Brazil made some great friends and shared some wonderful comradely with Team 334 in Brooklyn. And before Team 1772 left NYC, they were invited to Team 334’s high school in Brooklyn for a visit.
When Team 334 recently found out that their friends down in Brazil was robbed, a fundraiser was started and the funds were wired to team 1772. :) |
Re: Teams helping teams
1618 and 1293 are only a couple of miles apart, although they're in different school districts. When we had issues with our test robot, 1293 took us in for an evening and helped us get darn close to running. Hopefully, we'll be able to scrimmage a bit before ship day.

Re: Teams helping teams
Rochester is great for "teams helping teams". I know 73 has worked at 340's facility, and was at our facility the other night when all the schools were closed. 340 is lending us their Rack for our pre-ship competition (we only have a half), our programmers helped two other teams in the area with programming, we all exchange parts as needed, we are shipping many of the area robots & then lending our truck to a few other teams. Of my experience in FIRST, Rochester is a great place to be :)

Re: Teams helping teams
Our team is in our 2nd year, and its been tough without a real sponsor. anywho, without Team 514, Miller Place robotics, our team wouldnt be where we are tday. we learned alot from them over the past two years, and we hope to one day pass it on!

Re: Teams helping teams
We have 3 other teams' robots in our lab right now. Helping others succeed is the foundation of FIRST.

Re: Teams helping teams
On Saturday Feb. 3, Team 354 (GW Westinghouse HS, Brooklyn) helped Polytechnic University with the first FRC programming workshop in the middle of building season for all the NYC team that wish attend.
It was really successful and it may become a permanent programming resource next year. |
Re: Teams helping teams
I wish we had more teams close by to help... :)
We've had a nice relationship with team 885 over the years, however (mostly a cross-pollination of talent). |
Re: Teams helping teams
Rob from 121 helped 1568 alot, in fact. 121 has been a great help to us since our rookie year.
also 1350 let us work alongside them all day yesterday, since the place we work at, cooley, was closed. thanks and team 69 always holds their annual mini-meet every year. thanks you all |

It's really cool the relationships you'll see pop up from FIRST teams that are close by....and sometimes, not so much, yet just as amazing. |
