A Shipping Horror
 

I wonder if this has happened to any other team.....

Twas the Friday before Ship, and it comes time to take the crate out to NASA to get it prepared to carry the robot. With the help of a few school janitors we make it from the classroom to the flatbed of her truck (Mrs. P is taking it out for those that know her). The class after us gets it strapped in....

Four hours later, at 3:15 we are waiting for our escort, who is a bit late....so I call Mrs. P to tell her that our escort hasnt showed up...and when I do she hints that i should tell the certain person I'm sitting next to that he did a wonderful job strapping the robot in....

Fifteen minutes later we are standing outside the shop looking what is left of the beautiful pink custom crate.....4 pieces.....at first glance it didnt look like much damage but it being plywood all the joints and corners were dead and un-repairable....so now we are looking at constructing an entire new crate....with four days then, and now, with no work done on a crate....less than two days for a new one....woohoo

the crate was on its way out to get prepared to fit the robot in, so no robot was hurt in this story....or else this would be more than a mere horror....

That must suck. Well good luck getting a new crate built by tuesday. Best of luck to you guys in 2007.

Oh right. I forgot. We need to build a crate! (kidding, we did it today). Hope all turns out well, better last friday than tomorrow.
