Happy Ship Day

I want to wish everyone a Happy Ship Day.

We actually made it through another build season and can get some down time. I enjoy spending the six weeks with you all and I look forward to seeing you at the competitions.

Good Luck to All

I hope everyone enjoyed a fun and successful build season. I hope everyone competes well at your various regionals and hope to see you at Championship.

The only thing happy about ship day is the promise of sleep coming soon...what a build season.

Good luck to all, and see you when I wake up for the competitions!

After largely finishing up the robot last night, 1618's taking a week off before starting plans for Palmetto on Monday. Time to catch back up with the rest of the world, I suppose.

Well we're taking wednesday, thursday, friday off. But then.... back to work. :yikes:

Spare parts to make, situations to prepare for, just-in-case plan b's and c's to write, etc.

We'll be seeing you all at purdue!

Congratulations in what you have all done over the past 6+ weeks!

Savor the moment,
enjoy the photos and video of those memories,
and get ready to (graciously) rumble!

Lay off the Mountain Dew (and other high powered caffeine drinks)for a few days so you can get some much needed rest! :D

Good luck to everyone at the upcoming competitions!

In addition to happy ship day, I would also like to wish everyone a Happy Packi Day! I think we're all about as happy as we're going to get this year, I know this was a supertough build season for us and I'm kinda glad it's over. Off to regionals!

Don't forget that wifi enabled laptop with extra batteries to stay informed of changes in rules between now and your first regional. :) :p

Our robot has to be crated up in T minus 1 hour and 41 minutes, and it's still in the welding booth!:ahh: :ahh: :ahh:

StephLee 20-02-2007 12:28

Re: Happy Ship Day

I think our robot has been picked up by Fed-Ex already, I can't see the crate on the webcam...this makes me wish we built at our school so I could go check for myself.

What a nice greeting, thank you John.

As the shavings settle, it's just about time to remember that we have lives to return to, families who support us but have missed us, socializing to catch up on, and a nice walk outside, weather permitting.

Jane

TGISD!!! I don't think I have ever been so happy to see it go as I was this year:ahh: I hope everybody had a safe build. Nobody needs an accident like we did last year. I hope all of you including me get lots of sleep tonight and for at least 24 hours not think about the lists of things left to do.:D

Metal In Motion - Team 343 - happily announces that it shipped Andre' today in a plain vanilla wrapper (white box.) It was bittersweet to see the shipping date come, but sometimes you just "gotta go" with "what cha got."
Good luck to everyone this year. There are pictures of the send-off at www.metalinmotion.com.:p

congratulations to all teams, you've earned it! It's been a tough, yet quick six weeks! I know our team is excited about getting some sleep, and even more excited about the NJ regional!

I'm sad. As I went to the shop today, I saw the Fed Ex truck leaving. So, what to do now? Drive the other bot? ;)

On the final hour of build season before shipping, I managed to sprain my right middle finger with a portable drill.

Hell of a way to end the build season :yikes:

Can't wait to get a full night's sleep for the first time in 6 weeks and have some quiet dinners at home. Our FedEx driver showed up this afternoon an hour before he was due...it was like a Keystone Kops movie getting everything packed up and ready for him to take the crate away! Lucky for us, he was really nice and didn't mind waiting, since he wasn't scheduled to leave the school till the end of the hour.

Robyn:yikes:

Re: Happy Ship Day

we spent all day monday testing and driving
and at the end of the day
one of our transmissions finally blew
thanks bane bots

well at least it happened at the end of the day
and we got plenty of testing done
pulled those out
and spent 3 hours cleaning the math dept. office we borrowed over the weekend after we brought it back from pelco.

it was kind of relieving this year.
last year this time we were still fabricating out bot until 45min before we shipped :ahh:

whewwwww.
see you all at davis.:D

Re: Happy Ship Day

Yeah i am right now suffering from robot shipment depression:( . i am the project leader this year and we had a young team so i was really nervous but we pulled it off which makes me happy.

Re: Happy Ship Day

Well, sometimes you go with what you have.

Not sure where we went wrong - had a great design in the middle of week 2, and we were still fabricating in week 5. Well, I guess it takes a few years to get all 6 weeks to go as planned. Thinks always seem to take longer to fabricate because of the school facilities, as Spock said "Stone knives and axes".

I'm just glad that part's over.

Now to March 1, when we get to finish the bot in Trenton. In the meantime, I will sleep.

Don

Hehe...I can't raise my right arm above my head. The drill bit caught during weight reduction and slammed my elbow into my face (which, btw, I can't even stretch my arm to do normally...). But hey, I beat the hole in the end.
