[FF]: The Person Draft

Ok guys, I've had this idea for a while. Some may think its stupid, but I think its really cool.

Pretty much it consists of the following:

30 to 40 people are needed to participate in this draft.

In the first round, team mentors are selected.
In the second round, college mentors are selected.
In the third round, high school students are selected.

Thats right, we're picking FIRSTers!

(Each person can only be selected once)

Im not sure how the scoring would work quite yet, but I have some ideas. At the most basic level, you are selecting teams based on their members. You would get a certain amount of points for that person's team's success. To make this worthwhile, a new element will be added to the game... selective merit scoring. When you select a mentor or student, you must attach a title to them. These titles can consist of mechanical, electrical, programming, driver, or community outreach/NEM (non engineering mentor). As teams win certain events and awards, points will be awarded based on the draft type given to that person.

For example, I draft Alan Anderson from team 45 with the title programmer. Team 45 wins an Innovation in Control Award at their regional. I get a points boost because I selected a good person, and selected the fitting title.

This can work one of two ways:
a) the draft will follow the order i set forth above, with three rounds and a free draft.
b) every player must draft one of each "title"

I think this is a cool idea because it will help everyone get to know people a little better. This is all in good fun, and in no way should it be looked upon in a negative light.

Let me know what you think.

No. Andy, like Dave, Raul, and JVN would fall under Jack of All trades, which unfortunately cancels out with master of none. Therefore, no specialty awards can be won;)

Dr Joe, on the other hand, is still a paradox.
