We are certainly going to miss our friends at the Pittsburgh Regional. We attended twice which makes it second on our Regional List to Philly. Its good to see more teams attending Pitt, after barely having enough for Elims last year.

I am very excited about FLR. As for "sneaking under the radar", I think we are just too bright green and loud for stealth missions. After 2 Regional SF finishes, I thought we had a good chance to come into Championship with a tuned camera (after some funny dances at Philly:D ) and surprise some people, but CD scouting is just too good these days. I couldn't even pick my own team with top 10 picks in 2 Fantasy FIRST drafts.

424 grr used an arm simmilar to your design. We weren't able to control which arm segment went up first did you figure something out to fix that?
or did you just not encounter that problem?

Early in build we had problems with the large white slider (in the picture between gripper stage and next stage) seizing in the bosch tubing tracks. That made the stages go up unevenly. After fixing the sizing of that slider, the stages lifted smoothly and consistently.

As Ben Piecuch pointed out, this is essentially the same lifter we used 2 years ago (right down to the window motor rotation) so we had some time to tweak the design. I don't know specifics (being a control systems guy:confused: ) but I would guess:

the sliders (possibly different for different stages),
staggering of the stages,
tensioners and
double winding (one chord pulls up and the other down)

One or more of the above has something to do with it (I just basically named every part). Stop by our pit at FLR and someone much more knowledgeable than I, would be happy to talk design with you.

Oh wait, the new arm gets a new driver?!?!

Looks good guys, Arm definitely was proven in 2005 to be reliable and sturdy. Best of luck and I'll see you at Philly!

It's been awhile since 88 and 365 have been in competition together. Perhaps we will be in the same division in Atlanta. Team 88 ROCKS! Love that spirit!
