Does the grabber have a wrist of some sort to keep the tube at a certain angle relative to the ground or do you plan on scoring with whatever angle you happen to grab the ringer at? Looks solid, I'm assuming that with the two pneumatic extenders you can reach the top spider leg? And does the arm turret? I see a globe motor oriented vertically, and I assume its for a turret like system.

Great job guys!

Why did you decide you needed mechanical breaks? Can't the drive motors do that electrically?

Not near as well as mechanically.

The brake feature shorts the motor leads creating a braking force proportional to the shaft speed. So, it can't completely stop rotation.

My guess is that since they have a turreting arm, they plan to put the brake on to keep the base in place, then score with the turret.

Grabber pulls the tube in at the right angle to score on any of the three levels - We only need to extend the arm to get to the top level.

Pneumatic brakes hold if we are pushed and will keep us on a ramp when power is cut.

Turret rotates about 30 degrees each way for placement.

No video - some more photos as soon as I figure out how to reduce the file size....

Do I spy one of the tensioners from the large CIMs being used a chain tensioner? We used one of those two, and had issues with it being too weak to hold the chain taught properly under load, causing the chain to skip off the wheels. Have you had any similar issues?

Great looking robot guys, I can't wait to see it perform at BMR.

We are using four of them.
No problems so far with the driving and practice time we have had.

Yes, our robot was shipped at 120 lbs, but we still need the flag holder. :(

Thanks for the good comments.

Chances are that the metal has been annodized blue.

Yes, it is annodized and you can see where we had late issues because there was supposed to be more blue than just that. O'well I guess some things feel the wrath of the six-week's monsters bite.
