Re: 2007 Monty Madness
Wow, where to start? Nothing much I can add beyond what has already been said in previous posts. I echo all their praise of the event. From the gift shop to all the side things, lots of cool things to do and see. Some head aches from last year were fixed (people cutting through the back to get to the pits), but other things were still there (CONSTANTLY BEHIND SCHEDULE!). I can't wait for Monty 3.0 (pretty please?) or any other off season event that might take it's place.
I can't wait to see everyone again! |

Re: 2007 Monty Madness
Yeah Fred now that you mention it that was a very good idea to make a VIP button for the Alumnus of FIRST. And I must say there was quite a good amount of us Alumni / Alumna there volunteering. Hopefully as you said before the idea will continue to go on & grow. God Willing I hope to see everyone next year at Monty or sooner at one of the local regionals.

Re: 2007 Monty Madness
I had fun, but this competition gave me Erie reminders of our luck at the Cheasepeake regional. A rookie team as our 3rd pick with little driving experience having trouble getting up our ramps. But we were able to get a little further this time. Our bot went through all 17 matchs we were in without a problem, and only 1 minor repair to the tap in the middle. Congratz to the alliance that won and best of luck next year. I'll try to find some pictures lyiing around, if i can.

Re: 2007 Monty Madness
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of the volunteers that made Monty Madness happen.
We had current members from various FIRST teams along with their mentors and parents, all helping us throughout the day. And of course (as Freddy noted before), we had our invaluable VIPs, those FIRST alumni from teams far and near volunteering their time for the next generation of high school students. Special thanks to our partners on Team 75, to our public voices of the Madness: Wayne Penn, George Ackley, and Big Mike, to our FTA and key support staff: Pete Kieselbach, Sarah Nied, and Michael Dessingue, to our head refs: Mike Nasson and Karin Kloberg, and to our audio-visual guru, Jeff Brooks and lighting maven, Bob Kazan. Also, let me express our collective gratitude to our speakers at the event, Dr. Bart Kamen and Sheri McCoy of J&J and of the FIRST board of directors. I hope that I am right in my evaluation that everyone had a good time at the event. I know that I saw lots of smiles and that is what it is all about. :) Quote:
