Re: 2007 Monty Madness

Ps - If ya need more volunteers, let me know and I will gladly be of assistance! |
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
I am not going to miss the 2007 Monty Madness, its already on my calender. I will be there as a volunteer and will try to get 204 to come along.
|
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
You already know I'm coming!
I had way too much fun last year not to make this a repeat! |
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
Holla!!
Im keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to make it again and volunteer. Judging last year was a lot of fun and I look forward to talking to all the teams again this year! |
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
Is there going to be an FVC competition as well?
If not and you have the room to have one, our team might be able to pack up and bring down our field. I know another FVC team near us also has a field. Perhaps we could organize something, we're only about 45 minutes from you guys. On a semi-related note: I was at the competition last year to watch the FVC scrimmage, it's where I made up my mind to start an FVC team. Thanks so much for hosting it! |
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
Registration is now open for teams and volunteers!!!
Teams, make sure you sign up before March 31st to get the discounted registration fee! Hope to see you there!!! |
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
Signed up again. This is going to be fun :)
|
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
This event looks tentative on my schedule once again. But I may need a date, because I will be missing my prom once again if I can make the trip down. :p

Re: 2007 Monty Madness
I just sent in my volunteer registration. But hopefully I can get atleast the robot down to MM with me this year. If I can make that happen I will most likely be in need of some temporary team members.

On that same note, we need a lot more volunteers! We want to make sure that this event is staffed well! Volunteers will be receiving really nice IZOD polo's again this year courtesy of PVH. Be sure to register at : www.montymadness.org (follow the links) |

In terms of volunteer positions, we'll have a better idea of how that falls out within a week and a half of the event. While we have quite a few volunteers signed up already, we are still in need of many more volunteers to help us make Monty Madness the quality event that everyone expects. (And of course, the volunteers will be getting new volunteer edition Monty Madness polos for their efforts.) |
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
Hmmm Monty Madness. I cant wait here its amazing fun every year. Never really been but i look forward to it this year. My team wont be there but Me and two other mebers will be. Re: 2007 Monty Madness
I have been playing around with the idea of doing some pre-scouting for Monty Madness. A lot of teams will be at the event with only a drive team, so any bit of scouting information on the teams would be very helpful to them. I ask for the assistance of all the teams attending or any team that thinks they have accurate info about other teams who will be attending. If you could post the information in the following format, I can compile it and make copies to distribute to every team at the event.
Team Number: Team Name: Primary Robot Functions: (Tube hanger, Ramp Bot, Hybrid, Defense Bot, other) Average # of Tubes placed in a match: How many robots can you lift: How high can it lift the robot(s): Any extra notes: I'll start... Re: 2007 Monty Madness
I was talking to some people about possibly changing some rules around to increase rack use/brutal defense. I have some ideas....
-Instead of two spoilers, have one spoiler and one "stealer". A stealer is a black tube with red/blue tape on it in an X pattern, this tube placed as a singleton will count as nothing and act as a spoiler, but if placed with other tubes of the same color, will act as another ringer. Stealers can be de-scored. -Remove some tubes from the field and placing them behind the alliance station walls. Instead of 9 on the floor, only 7 will be placed, with the additional two placed behind the walls. -Additional rules to prevent agressive defense, which need to be hammered out. -No early deployment of ramps. Again, I'm not speaking for MM, I just thing these are some ideas they might want to impliment... |

Re: 2007 Monty Madness
The planning committee for Monty Madness is working very hard to make this another great event. We actually just got out of another meeting and I found out about some things that will knock your socks off!:) I have to wait just a little bit longer before I can officially announce it, but I guarantee you the things we have in store won't be things you want to miss.
Also, we have a large number of volunteers but we do need more! We are close to the amount that we had last year, but we are still a little short. Remember, if you volunteer you get a VERY nice volunteer IZOD polo shirt (generously donated by PVH). We will not be accepting walk-in volunteers. If you do wish to volunteer, you must do so on the the Monty Madness website (www.montymadness.org) at least 48 hours prior to the event. Also, if your team has extra Blue Tubes, Red Tubes, Blue Keepers, Red Keepers, or Black Spoilers, we are in need of them!!! FIRST gave away all of the tubes in Atlanta, so we are in desperate need of them! If you have any that you are willing to loan to us, we would very much appreciate it! Please PM me with any information/comments. Thanks! Are you ready for the Madness?... We'll see you in 16 days. |
Re: 2007 Monty Madness
I have two keepers that I used for decoration, I'll be happy to donate them to a good cause (I just want them back if they aren't totally gone ;) )
I hope this year you guys might think about making opening ceramonies shorter with more play time, I really would like to have lunch this year. :) |
