Moving the Rack at the Beginning of the Match??

Hey. I was watching the live NASA feed from the Florida regional earlier today, and the one thing that bothered me was that the refs were not moving and rotating the rack before each game. Was that just because it was practice day and they didn't bother doing it, or have the rules changed without me knowing?

I looked around on this forum for a while, but couldn't find anything about this.

What's going on?

Thanks,
Adrien

I wasn't watching the matches much, but it seemed like they didn't move the rack during practice rounds at St. Louis, either.

They only rotated it a couple of times on Thursday, but they rotated it before the start of every match on Friday and Saturday.

One thing I noticed during the Florida Webcast today was that the matches were sometimes started while the rack was still swinging around...

Yeah, that was pretty funny. It seemed like every other match there was a red on a blue ramp or a blue on a red ramp and each time it happened the MC had to say that tomorrow they will incur penalties for that.

There was actually this one time when they were kind of confused about what to do. I forget exactly what happened, but it was like a red bot deployed its ramp in the blue home zone, but it was greater than 72" and it was partially outside the home zone, and then one red and one blue bot got up on the ramp. Now that's confusing.

I'm pretty sure it's just cause it was practice. During the actual competitions it's going to be moving plenty. I know in NJ Sky moved it by himself before every match.

That's actually a true testament. If you ever get the chance, try moving that thing...it's immense!

I don't think I saw them rotate it everytime at VCU on Saturday when I looked at the webcast. This really caught me off guard, but I'll see if I can watch the Arizona webcast sometime tomorrow.

But yeah, it could be because of whether the teams even had a keeper or not.
