spam mentors...if you're reading this....please (nod head in approval, prom sounds like great idea...it'll keep the kids from jumping on the beds in the hotel rooms!)

It looks like the prom will be held at the hyatt hotel. It looks like most of the teams are staying there. Nothing in confirmed, but it looks like a good chance that its gonna happen. The only things is that there might be a small fee to get in, just so that we can cover the cost. Hope to see all of you there!

Re: Prom anyone????

it pretty much is whatever you want it to be...the only reason that were calling it prom is because our high school prom is that weekend. and were obviously not going to be able to attend...there will be music....and drinks i believe..

My team is seriously considering this. Any idea on time/cost? This sounds like a great opportuinty to socialize with other teams.

This is too bad. Most of our team is arriving on Thursday night (5 PMish) At 9PM, we are having a viewing party for my appearance on the CW (check out my ~sig~) Oh well. Perhaps next year you can plan for this Friday or Saturday night, because we would love to attend.

Robo~Prom

So we are planning on having an robo prom in Atlanta. But in order to do so we need to have enough people interested, as in teams in part or in whole. We are planning on having it in a convention room at the Hyatt on thursday night. Is there any interest to do so? there will be a small (under 10 USD) fee at the door just so that we can cover costs i.e. dj, room, etc.. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested.

Hey I hav a question about this. Do we have to be all dressed up and nice and what not? A couple of us CircuitRunners want to just come and hang out since we are staying at the Hyatt. Would that be alright or would we have to do the whole dress up thing?

Re: Robo~Prom

You can come as you want. there are no requirements.

Re: Robo~Prom

There seems to be a lot of interest in this. I know a lot of people on our team (mostly girls though-- and I'm not sure you'd want to see the guys on our team dance...)

What would the fee cover? Are you planning on getting a banquet room or something, and would there be food, dj, etc?

Re: Robo~Prom

Count me in!!!!!!!! I know a lot of the kids on SPAM team 180 are interested, and our sponsor said he was cool with it.

...it'd be more fun if everyone dressed up though. :D a real FIRST prom. (spirited semi-formal?)

Do you need a dj? :-) I should be around and most likely driving up anyways.
