What I LOVE about FIRST !
 

Okay, time to share why we are really all here in the first place.

It's so very easy to be critical, now let's all remember the GOOD behind all this madness.

I love FIRST because I get to meet and work with GREAT students - and hopefully help motivate them to pursue a career in some field of science and technology.

I love FIRST because it allows me to meet GREAT people that share the vision and mission from other teams (mentors, teachers, engineers, parents, volunteers).

I love FIRST because I have learned to love living the process (unveiling to off season events) - somehow it just gets into your blood.

So - take a minute and think about why YOU love FIRST.

I bet we all have alot more in common than we think.

Sometimes, telling those you love is important - so they know it too.

I love FIRST because it shows the best of the world.. people working together to accomplish a goal

I love FIRST because of the Gracious Professionalism (GP)

I love FIRST because of the real world experience

I love FIRST because of the people you meet and the networks you become apart of.

That there is a group of students from all over whofeel comfortable enough with each other to talk about organizing a prom as a side event.

I love FIRST because it bridges the gender gap, and it's a bridge that runs in both directions!

I love FIRST because it offers a chance at something better to students from all walks of life.

I love FIRST because I have seen it make a difference in a student's life, a wonderful difference, and that's what matters the most to me.

I love FIRST because of the friends I've made and continue to make.

I love FIRST because I love technology.

I love FIRST because of that feeling you get on kick-off eve, like you're 5 again and tomorrow morning is Christmas.

I love FIRST and it's New England teams with their crazy defense.

I love FIRST...two words Hexagon Havoc.

I love FIRST and getting to see the amazing diversity in designs and solutions to the same problem year after year.

I love FIRST because I know what it was for me and continue to hope that every student out there gets that same experience.

I love FIRST for all the reasons I don't love FIRST ;-)

I love FIRST because of the opportunities that abound
- growth
- development
- understanding
I love FIRST because people come together finding ways to work through differences of opinions and approach to solve a shared challenge/problem.
I love FIRST because I watch students grow into young adults, often carrying the torch of culture change - lighting the way for those that come behind them.
I love FIRST because it gives everyone a chance to have the 'hardest fun we'll ever have'. :).

I love FIRST because it makes you dream up ideas that you never would have thought of before.

I love FIRST because it pushes you to your limits and shows you that they can be blown away.

I love FIRST because it can be applied to anything!

I love FIRST because it's really competetive.

I love FIRST because offers an oppurtunity to work with engineers.

And most of all, i love FIRST because of it's great mentors!:)

I Love FIRST because its a place where people accept others and are nice to everyone.

I Love FIRST because everyone has a shot at being a winner.

Wow, this is a great thread for everyone one teams to express their love of FIRST. I'm a new student to the team...

I LOVE FIRST because of all the people I have met, even throughout just this first year.

I LOVE FIRST because I get to work with upper-class men and mentors who devote countless hours to help their students better understand technology and build a passion for engineering.

I LOVE Robotics :cool:

I LOVE FIRST because where else can you get lizards and thunderchickens and robot dogs and devil duckies etc. to display all over your desk at work?
I LOVE FIRST because where else can a middle-aged man or woman get away with dyeing their hair in vivid colors and wear striped socks and matching shoelaces?
I LOVE FIRST because I'm able to make friends from all over the world - and we all have something in common!
I LOVE FIRST because it allows me to predict the future by watching tomorrow's engineers at work today.
I LOVE FIRST because it enabled me, a humanities-type person, appreciate science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

I love FIRST because I get to work with machinery :D
I love FIRST for all the great people I've met through it.
I love FIRST for the hot, hot robots.
I love FIRST because walking into a competition on the first day and seeing all the robots getting unwrapped from their crates is like the best Christmas ever.
I love the smell of machine oil.
I love FIRST because it gives me inspiration and confidence.
I love FIRST.

I love FIRST because it's alright to admit that you don't know something -- and the feeling of assurance that someone is always willing to help you out. I love the mentoring aspect of FIRST. Learning from the best!

I love FIRST because of the great people I have met and look forward to meeting.

I love FIRST because I love robots.

I love FIRST because every is a winner in one way or another.

I love FIRST because it allows everyone to be very creative.

I love FIRST because it made me become a better person in general (Gracious Professional is practiced all the time now)

I love FIRST because it made me more social with new people.

I love FIRST because I get to wear awesome safety goggles... whenever I feel like it :cool: [like there for instance]

And last but not least... I just love FIRST... period.
