Most Amazing Streak

As many may already know, 254's impressive steak of consecutive San Jose (Silicon Valley) Regional wins has finally ended, at 8. The Cheesy Poofs won the first 8 Silicon Valley regionals, but lost in the 2007 Quarter-finals. They did win the Los Angeles Regional last weekend though. Because of this, I thought it a good time to start a thread about some of the most impressive streaks in FIRST history.
In my opinion:
#1- 254's 8 consecutive SVR wins
#2- 254's 9 consecutive years with a Regional championship
#3- 236's 4 Consecutive UTC Chairman's
#4(tie)- 236's 5 Consecutive years with a Regional Chairman's
#4(tie)- 79's 5 Consecutive years with a Regional Chairman's
#6- 71's two consecutive Championships (2001 & 2002)
#7- 16's 4 Consecutive years as a Chairman's Finalist
#8- 175's 3 Consecutive years on Einstein
#9- 116s 5 Consecutive years with a Regional AVA
#10- 25s 36 Consecutive wins in 2006 (36-0 start)

1002 (Circuit Runners) won Chairmans at Peachtree in 2004, 2005, and 2006, and recieved an honorable mention for Chairmans at the 2004 Championship.

Re: Most Amazing Streak

My list
#1- 25s 36 Consecutive wins in 2006 (36-0 start) That is truly amazing, that is just an insane amount of skill/luck, even more than 254 has had
#2-71's two consecutive Championships (2001 & 2002) This will never happen again, unless 71 does it
#3-254's 8 consecutive SVR wins-This too will never happen again no team will get that much luck and build robots that consistently good again
#4- 254's 9 consecutive years with a Regional championship-Give 1114 nine years and they will have this
#5-503's two straight regionals winning Chairman's and Regional Championship-A true testament to how well rounded they are
#6(tie)- 236's 5 Consecutive years with a Regional Chairman's
#6(tie)- 79's 5 Consecutive years with a Regional Chairman's-These teams are both going to wind up in the HOF someday
#7- 16's 4 Consecutive years as a Chairman's Finalist-Something that 365 will probably get in the next two years, assuming they don't win it
#8- Michigan's 5 straight national champions-Don't worry we will make this streak longer this year
#9-175's 3 Consecutive years on Einstein-503 is going to make a serious run at this one this year
#10-469's 4 straight division finals-Making it there twice in a row is impressive, four times is mindblowing

#1000-503 beating the Martians 3 straight times in Eliminations

2005 Palmetto Regional finalist thanks to 25 and 301
2005 UCF Regional finalists thanks to 845 and 1270

We've always been finalists or Champions at the Florida Regional and Palmetto for the last 3 years.

I think 1114 and 1503's three strait regional wins, in one year. Great Lakes, Waterloo, then GTR last year. Winning all the regionals they attended.

Can we please use this thread to discuss the most amazing streaks, instead of just listing the accomplishments of your own teams?

Edit: Of course some teams like 71, 111, 233, 254 etc. have earned the right to toot their own horn. The rest of us have not.

Does Imagery count?

2004: OR Imagery
2005: SJ Imagery
2006: OR Imagery

We've had imagery every year since our team started (2004) I'd like to hear of some other teams with continuing Imagery.
Anybody know a team with a 4 or more year streak with the Imagery award?

Team 365:
2001 NJ Imagery
2002 VA Imagery
2003 PA Imagery
2004 CMP Imagery

Hope your streak ends like ours :D

Now to the streak that inspired this thread. I don't think 254's streak of winning the same regional 8 years in a row will ever be broken. FIRST has grown tremendously and the parity between teams has increased. This makes any year-to-year streak difficult. Plus the 3v3 alliance format and certain game makes it difficult for one robot (no matter how amazing) to dominate the competition.

The Poofs still have that amazing Regional Championship per year streak to continue. I'm sure that will keep everyone glued to webcasts next year.

Re: Most Amazing Streak

114 is definitly on a AVA streak

-2006
-AVA winner at Portland
-AVA winner at SVR
-AVA winnre at Davis
-Honorable mention at nationals

-2007
-AVA winner at SVR

I think they have won even more, but I don't know.

Team 111 (Wildstang):

Midwest winners: 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007
Midwest finalists: 2002

By any measure, that's atleast three years in a row.

How about Team 67's streak of Regional wins, I think its a combination of GLR and Buckeye:

2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and judging by their robot a WMR victory in 2007 is a very realistic possibility.

Not to mention their Chairman's and Judges awards year after year.

One streak that was mentioned to me a week ago: 1902 has made the elimination rounds at every single event they've ever attended. That'd be Florida 2006 (finalist), Lone Star 2006 (semifinalist), Archimedes 2006 (finalist), Mission Mayhem 2006 (semifinalist) if you want to count the off-season, and now Florida 2007 (finalist). Not too shabby.

That's a start. But how about 254? This 2007 quarter-final exit was their earliest ever. They have only been stopped short of the finals twice (2002 Buckeye Semis, 2007 SVR Quarters) at a regional. They have made the elimination rounds at all 17 of their regionals, and all 8 of their nationals/championship events. I didn't include this on the streak list because FIRST does not provide a definitive way to check this streak among all teams, and I'm sure some other teams (say 67, 71, 111, 233, 1114, etc.) have accomplished this as well, but there is no precise way to guarantee it (and with the "Events Attended" section gone, figure out how long that streak is).

537's four straight regional victories at 3 different events. (2004-STL, 2005-Midwest, 2006-STL, 2007- Wisconsin).

I'm going to echo Karthik's remarks. Please don't just post the accomplishments of your own team. While I may have been guilty as well for putting 116's 5-year AVA streak up there, I feel this thread has gone slightly awry. Keep the focus on amazing achievements of other teams. If you streak is great enough, somebody else will post it.

I'll second the 1114/1503 Trifecta of 2006. How many regionals did each robot go to? Three. How many regionals did each robot win? 3. They paired up three times to (no offense) OWN a lot of the competition

I think 968 deserves a place here; They are a team with a handful of dedicated college and highschool students, no engineers. They routinely create beautiful robots that can perform, and often times did this with almost no money.

Look at this list here;
* 2002 CMP Highest Rookie Seed - Newton Division
* 2003 CA Finalist
* 2003 AZ Regional Champion
* 2005 CA Regional Finalist
* 2006 CA Regional Champion
* 2006 CMP Champion - Newton Division
* 2006 WI Championship Finalist

The first time 67 didn't make the elimination rounds was on Galileo last year in Atlanta, meaning HOT went at least 10 years making ever single elimination tournament. 1902's got a long way to go.

(Of course, they've begun their streak in a completely different era of FIRST, so their out of the starting gate record is a bit more impressive.)

Well this one is the shortest streak here, at only 2. But I think 191 should be on here since they're the only ones to ever win Championship Chairman's twice in a row.

They didn't win twice in a row. They won in 1992 and 1994.

ok well our streaks are like this:
all this in midwest regional in 2007
most points in pentlies (70 points)
most times scoring in autonmous 3 matches in a row (5 times in all)
only one to score in autonomous mode
5 matches in finals (first two we tied, 3rd- 648, 447, 1000 won, 4th/5th- the other alliances won)
i think thats it (can't remember it all b/c it happened so fast)

Re: Most Amazing Streak

how about making a regional finals in every regional we attended except a quarterfinals lost to team 25 and co. once. That's 6 out of 7.:D
Elimination rounds every regional we attended and an award(s) in all of them also......hehehe....:D
AND possibly spending the MOST in travel costs since coming all the way from Hawaii.
This year alone if we attend Championships also, close to $80,000 just for 20-25 people per trip and two regionals.
BUT, at least we can bring the "house" as other teams do when we participate in the Hawaii one next year.

2001, and there's been one year (2004) where we did one at each (along with the AZ Chairman's). I don't think we've ever missed elims at LA, and we've only missed finals once (finalist at AZ that year).

Sadly... we have this streak, but i still think this is a good one

65 had 3 straight silver medals in midwest

2003,2004,2005

Ever since they moved detroit and midwest to the same week we couldnt go back because we volunteer at detroit. But it was fun times.

It looks like no one has mentioned 47's regional wins in 1998. I believe, correct me if I am wrong, that in 1998 The Chief won all the regionals they entered. Of course at the time there were like 3 or 4 regionals so I guess that doesn't make it impressive by today's standards but at the time it was extremely impressive, if not downright frustrating ;-)

Oddly enough, we had the same streak broken, at exactly the same time. The pit crews of team 67 and team 45 were standing next to each other when it happened, also.

Not a team streak but a Michigan team has won at the Championship every year since 2001, plus 1999.

1999: 1
2001: 279
2002: 66
2003: 469, 65
2004: 494
2005: 67, 503
2006: 217
