Re: 2007 best tube scorers

After seeing them at Las Vegas, there are more than a few juggarnauts who deserve a mention:
233, 254, and 1425, who averaged more than 4 tubes per match each.
79 and 987, who both brought in over 3.5 per match.
39, 60, and 1902, who averaged above 3 a match.
Vegas was amazing.

My vote goes to 1425 and 254

We had the honor of working with teams 1425 and 254 in the elimination rounds at Las Vegas. It was incredible working with these teams... consistently they would score 6 rows and our alliance actually did an 8 + 1 in one semi.

My favorite match had 254 spoiling the only blue ringer at the last second in the third quarter final against a great team... it was really a statement...
the rack was theirs...

It was great fun playing with them and all the other great teams at LV.
This was our first year and seeing great teams play at the top of their game was pure pleasure for us...

Watch out for 1425 and 254 at Atlanta...

We hope to get there too... thanks to everyone and good luck to all!!

I turned away from the field while watching one of their quals at Long Island, and when I turned back 20 seconds later, they had put up three more tubes. I credit these guys and girls with our Long Island win, we couldn't have done it without them and their amazing offensive machine.

Actually when i was behind them watching it; they put up the 3 tubes literally as soon as the defense backed off. It was amazing.

I agree. They put together a row of 7 in one of their first qualifying matches in the blink of an eye. Looked up at the clock after the row was done, and there were 50 seconds remaining. Definitely the best scorer at the Long Island Regional. They could be lethal at the Championships, but only if they are better under defense.

I'd have to say 254 and 100.

254's bot was blazingly fast, it's grabber mechanism could go all the way up in a matter of short moments, and it's grab/release times were astounding.

100's bot was also very fast, it's grabber mechanism worked very well, and they got rows of 8 on the center row several times at Davis.

I say my favorite was team 56, i mean look at this! 3 on 1 and they managed to OWN. lol :D

Team 11 was also one of my favorites, they were really fast scorers! In fact, their design was very much like one of ours in the beginning of the build season, except with a few more bells and whistles. Well..maybe just bells. :p

Thanks, you guys had a great scoring machine as well. 5-6 tubes per match is nothing to laugh at. :) You were outstanding.

Thanks for drafting us!

I went to 3 regionals this year (NJ, Chesapeake, Philly). Here are the best ringers I saw (subjectively):

103 - lightning fast
25 - great I.D. grabber and elevator
75 - awesome arm - the best top row scorer I've seen
272 - solid all around
341 - :D Because I watched our robot more than I watched anyone else's

Thank you, I remember that game, it was awesome.
We also had another game in New York City Regional that was 2vs1 and we managed to get 9 on the rack and make a 360 in our home zone in the 2 minutes. Watch it here

We are really looking forward for the Championships, just a week from now

I would definitely add Spike 293 and Buzz 175 to this list of teams that we directly observed.

We went undefeated scoring tubes throughout the Las Vegas Regional, including tough qualifying matches against such teams as 254 and 233
In San Diego we were second only to 330 in average rings. We were regularly defended in the elimination tournament at Vegas, but still scored 3 - 5 rings...

We've received the recognition we deserved. We have been fortunate to play with some great teams that have benefited us a lot. It was an honor to play with great ringers such as 233, 987, 1540, 39...I'm sure I've left some off, too.

Teams 330 and 254 I would nominate for the best ringers of 2007 that I have seen. 254 has an amazing drive base and quick arm, while 330's simplicity and effective arm put it at the top of the heap.

Unfortunately many teams do not understand this concept. I saw some bad calls at Lone Star and they seemed as if they did know what was going on. I think that many teams went unrecognized at the LSR because of this lack of scouting and this "blind faith" in seeding stats. Kryptonite and the ausTIN CANs were some of THE best bots in their class, but due to a combination of bad alliance partners and good opponents they stood no chance.

The best tube scorers that I have seen would be:
148
2158
364
16 (their autonomous was killer)

i agree. Kryptonite had awesome forklift lifters and the ausTIN CANs had an amazing robot, exspecially for being a rookie team. it was a took me by surprise that neither were picked. i was for sure they were going to go fast.

I have to second this nomination. At the Buckeye Regional, my team plotted our best case senerio. This senerio was team 1126 selecting 1038 and 1528. We had 1126 and 1038 as the top two scorers at the regional.

Thanks Travis! We have been pretty successful, but I need to nominate 1126, Sparx, as one of the elite (No pun intended, Travis) hangers based on thier performance at Buckeye. These guys are awesome, they have a great process to acquire the tubes, which is very forgiving, and they can put 'em wherever they want quickly. Trust me, you want these guys on your side!
