Re: 2007 best tube scorers

The best scoring robot that i've not only seen and played against in 2 regionals is team 330, the beach bots. They almost manage to score 8 ringers on every match. They are the best and no team has really been able to stop them defensively. They have also won 2 regionals this year, Los Angeles and San Diego. How many other teams can say that? They have also won it almost single handedly. My team, 1266 Devil DUckies, only lost to any alliance with the beach bots. Even when we defended them, which we did very affectively, we still had to deploy our ramps with 30 seconds left which gave them time to score 6 ringers and deploy their own ramps. They are just amazing.

I have been watching a lot of robots recently and I must say that 1114, 67, and 968/254 really impress me. I was talking to my co-pilot and we love the challenge of playing against great teams. It really brings out the best in you and it can sometimes surprise you to see what you are capable of doing. I would really love to play with and more importantly face off against these teams in Atlanta! Good luck to everyone and we'll see you in 2 weeks at the big show.

There were quite a few teams that effectively scored in San Diego. I especially enjoyed watching 368, 1622, 1540, 1425, and 968 play.

You do know that the alliance of 1503, 1023 and 494 beat the alliance of 67, 1114 and 57 in the GLR semi-finals. It just goes to show ya that seemingly great teams can falter if you put the right kind of team against them.

I'm aware of that, but I am primarily talking about in qualifying matches where you don't know who you are allied with and you have to work with whatever you've got. :)

Thanks for the recognition Eric, we did get our arm working in the end and were able to place about 3 a minute while defended we maxed out at 4 in one match before we had to return with about 35 seconds left we could prolly do 5 or 6 if we stayed out the whole time...

But your robot, 330, was absolutely amazing. Your drivers were beyond impressive and scoring seemed second nature to your team. Thanks for an exciting and tough finals, I'm sure you guys will show Atlanta how a robot is supposed to score rings - great job guys.

Also 968/254, 368, 1388, 1622, and 1425 proved to also be very proficient at scoring too.

I don't see how anyone could forget you guys, turn that frown upside down. You guys are two time regional finalist this year, I think you are already having your best season by my recolection. Keep giving it your all and you guys could go far.

Re: 2007 best tube scorers

In San Diego, I think a team 1388 hasn't been given due credit to their arm. Their averages aren't great because it was broken for a match or two, but they had a great autonomous, and scored once or twice there. They could easily place 3-5 ringers with defense.

1388 ended up carrying their alliance to the semi-finals, losing to the eventual winners.

1114 and 1504 collect that data, but you might have to bribe them to make it public :-p
