Re: Regional Winners
Well if the purpose of this thread is to give quick references towards the winning alliances, then I'll throw in my 2cents for the Florida Regional. 1251 seeded 4th and picked up 1270 and then 86. 1251 and 1270 were the offensive bots and 86 was the defensive/ramp bot.
1251-They took a lot of defense through eliminations and were basically all offensive. At the end the made it back to the ramps. They are effective at scoring, have great scouting, and they are a good team to pair with because they are very easy to work with. 1270-We have a robot that can play offense and defense so in the finals when 86 deployed we stopped scoring after a couple ringers and left the rest of the scoring to 1251 and started playing defense. Through the quarter finals and the semis we just scored as much as we could and then we would head back to the ramp. 0086-Was in my opinion the best ramp bot there and were also a great defensive bot. I was amazed that they were still available for the third pick. They played good defense and then they would head back and deploy for 1251 and us to climb and then they took about 5 seconds to lift. |
Re: Regional Winners
I'm seeing several 4-team alliances. Is this unusual? I think there are often only one or two per year, and just in 4 weeks there have been three. Also, I think the number of rookies winning is high this year.

Re: Regional Winners
Well I was at GLR and Boilermaker and here's what I thought about the winning teams.
Team 503 - Incredible team players, they are deffinately capable of working in sync with other whoever they're partners with. A great versitile robot capable of good scoring and clutch ramp deployment. Easily a team to keep an eye out for. Team 1015 - These guys have a really cool arm and are good scorers, they are capable of making play in the heat of battle when needed. They play hard and have a solid offensive with the posibility of good defense. Team 573 - That's us! A robot fully capable of scoring with the best of them, excellent strategic player. Between their extremely long arm and meccanum drive they are hard to defend and are very skilled at moving past defense and scoring big time. Team 1555 - Deffinately a team that seemed to come out of no where to most but proved capable of getting the job done when needed. They played strong and finished even stronger. Team 234 - A very unique robot that proved to be a fantastic scorer. Full of special features and unique qualities this robot rised to the top and proved to be a powerful force in the competition. Team 1730 - With a great ramp and an even greater arm these guys were deffinately the team to beat at Boilermaker. Prooving that their robot was a versitile and consistent machine they became the number one seed and made a lasting impression on yours truly. |

Re: Regional Winners
Is this a record low for multiple regional winners?
123 234 247 254 330 997 1114 1302 2056 It looks like there have been more 1st then second, and 2nd then first this year. Any info to back that up? |
