330 managed to do that once. Dead reckoning works sometimes (in quals and eliminations, I've seen 3 from us in two regionals, plus a bunch of near misses).

Somebody saw in some regional a robot that scored in spider leg without target?

Yes. A few teams have done it, including 116 and 330. Granted both of these teams weren't using their camera for their autonomous when they scored. The video I posted of 116 scoring earlier actually shows us doing it.

I had not repaired that you placed in spider without target. But congratulations man, itīs 'so crazy', how we used to say in Brazil.:D

These prizes only emphasize the great mind that is behind all this work.
And I own a lot from what I am today, because of this mind ^^
I belive you know what i'm talking about!

Were you using dead reckoning and got lucky, or did you use other means of finding the rack (like ultrasonic range finders)? I have ultrasonics, but am having problems programming them. Perhaps you have some pointers?

When we scored, we didn't have any sensors sensing the rack, at the time the only functional sensors on our robot were our gyro, arm potentiometer, and accelerometer. We do have an ultrasonic sensor on our claw, and we are trying to incorporate it (as well as our camera) during the fix it window. We haven't had any real time to play around with the ultrasonic yet during the fix it window, but if we do, we can probably offer some tips.

Dead reckoning. If you're at the championship, look right under our controller for our straight line device (IMU) and at our drive chains for a set of potentiometers--then try to find a camera on the robot. (There isn't one.)

and your autonomous is very effective, but, it can put in lower leg?

Not omni-wheels, crab steer, all for wheels are steered so we can go sideways. Putting on the lower leg is just a matter of a couple-few different values. We might end up having that option at nat'ls.

It is so great to see all the good autonomous modes, especially two teams same time.

1902 will be in Atlanta delivering on autonomous, we did 13 of 16 times at Florida.

See soap video in QF (takes awhile to download)

See youtube of our practice.

Looking forward to Atlanta and doing auto mode with some of you.

Re: Autonomous in Championship

After burning our fix-it-windows for this week today, we successfully fixed all the problems the camera portion of our autonomous code was having. Our gyros and encoders work, our camera works, and our arm worked before our Regional ended, so I'm happy to say that we will officially be scoring in autonomous at the Championship.

We're going to try to actually mount an arm on last year's robot and get a keeper scored with our last fix it windows next week.

Team 1425 scored in auto mode using ultra-sonic sensors in the Las-Vegas regional. We didn't get our auto-mode working until the last 2 qualifying rounds.

We use 4 ultra-sonic sensors and do not use the camera. We have one that looks for the rack to determine distance, and 3 that look for the spider foot to line us up. Thus we don't care about the presence or absence of the light.

Check us out on the SOAP archive of the Las Vegas regional.

We will be in Atlanta (due to our win in Las Vegas and a very successul fund raising effor <THANKS XEROX!> ), we are finalizing things this morning.
