Um... we braced the manipulator some more... that's about it. Welded some pieces on Friday night of MWR. Other than that... not a thing. That I know of. Ed probably has something up his sleeve, I haven't been to many meetings since we got back in town.

I am pleased to say We changed almost nothing :)
Our robot was functional from the start. only not working once... forgot to locktight something in build season and came back to bite us in the $@#$@#$@#.

only changes we made was switching Aluminum 1 inch ramps for stronger/longer lasting carbon fiber ones.

I plan on modifying our gripper a little to make it close / open faster when we get to Atlanta, 3 seconds is just too long

Re: Who Has Changed there Robot Design?

At FLR we found that we needed to take the camera off so we could put some polycarb on our sides if/when we need to remove our bumpers to ramp. Now we have re-worked the pneumatics to remove the entire mounting plate & one tank so we could re-mount our camera. Now when we get to Atlanta we can have some auto modes that do more than burn a hole in the carpet.

We decided to redo our wings. They will be lighter (T6 6061, .032 aluminum) and easier to stay on once you get on top of them. We are adding anti-backing devices and a rubber strip on the edges of the wings.
Here they are: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/28047

I don't think 'changed' is a good word...... But I'll say that we have made a lot of 'improvements.'
We have improved our suction, by adding another cup.
We changed the design of our ramps at Chesapeake, but over the course we have improved it and will be adding on to the improvement (new wood pieces, brackets etc etc) at the Championship.

Good Luck Teams, and if you need any kind of help........ANY KIND OF HELP....you guys are always welcome at 612's pit. :)

We just added some strategically placed steel braces to robustify our arm.

As far as I know, you can only design changes to be made and bring the materials. I don't think you can pre-fabricate anything, unless it's done in the fix-it window. I'm not too familiar with the rulebook this year, though.

email sent

You can change anything as long as you follow the standard build guidelines. The problem is you only get two five hour build windows after every weekend of regionals. So you can have two 5 hour meetings but they have to happen before this Thursday morning.
