Calling all Hams--Amateur Radio Operators
If your going to Atlanta next week, don't forget your HTs!! The Atlanta Radio Club has invited all amateur's involved in FIRST to use their repeaters. They have both a 2m and a 70cm machines. (Both located downtown.) the 2m machine is on 146.82 w/negative offset, 70cm machine is on 444.825 w/positive offset, both use a PL146.2.
If anyone is interested, we could setup a simplex net each night at 2100hrs. Lets start Weds. night (11APR07) on 146.52. 73 WA1MOW |
Re: Calling all Hams--Amateur Radio Operators
If there's a specific time you're meeting on either repeater let me know and I'll dial up IRLP (They are connected to the IRLP net right?) and join you, it's as close as I can get to Atlanta this season.
KC2RGZ Also, if anyone wants to call me up and send me updates, I'll be listening as often as I can on my 70cm HT on the local repeater, IRLP node 4747. |
Re: Calling all Hams--Amateur Radio Operators
If the Atlanta repeater is IRLP can I connect to that from my windows computer like i could with Echolink? If I could do that I would listen even if I didn't/couldn't talk.

Re: Calling all Hams--Amateur Radio Operators
If anyone from Ontario happens to know of a good ham radio course/club that actually teaches the course well feel free to let me know or post, I really should learn this and get my license but I found out the hard way once that you really have to know you're stuff, there are 100 questions on the exam out of a pool of 600 and as I found out once the hard way....you have no idea which questions you're going to get, so rather than just learn enough to barely pass the exam and get the license I wouldn't mind learning it properly if there was a reputable course being taught somewhere.
I am also in Canwarn which is our equivalent of skywarn so the license would be rather useful for severe weather suff. thanks, Mark stormcentre@rogers.blackberry.net http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/wxscan/ |

Re: Calling all Hams--Amateur Radio Operators
Any chance of us FIRSTers meeting on a reflector before Atlanta? I want to get used to your voices/calls before it's party time.
Somebody know a good reflector? |
