We destroyed ours a bit after build season ended... it took up way too much space. Kressly started refering to it as "Woodhendge"

I was thinking the rack might make a great jungle gym for all the people on the team with excess energy! (Saftey glasses and gloves are a must while using it, though.) (-;

Crazy... I should have read your other response before I posted. But I guess since we agree on that point, the ÜberBots' rack will indeed become a jungle gym!

I wanted the local Explosive Ordnance Disposal team to blow it up with 5 pounds of C4, but the team decided to dismantle it and save the lumber for next years monstrosity

Nothing is official yet, but a couple of teammates and I have suggested using it to hang freshman who get on our nerves. Kinda like a freshman initiation or something of that nature....

Although the team members who built the rack want to burn it (right now we need the heat - Mother Nature apparently lost her calendar), I think there's way too much reusable material there. Lots of good wood, rope, PVC. Our team motto: Never throw anything away.
Maybe we can turn it into a great white elephant - put it in somebody's yard, they can pay $25 to have it removed or $15 to have it taken to somebody else's yard....

Good question.

We're keeping ours around because we've still got a bunch of off season competitions. (too many to count on the east coast) Our robot isn't an easy one to drive, so the rookie drivers will need practice.

After our last off-season competition we can still use it for some driver tryouts and stuff in the new season. Hopefully we'll have a robot done early enough to actually do something like that, though.

Heh. I like donating it to the zoo... but would the monkeys have to wear goggles too!?

As for team 1511, far be it from this college mentor to decide, but methinks it's gonna be stowed with the rest of our field stuff, or recycled for next year's stuff (depends on what the game is)... except that awesome green light thing. That's an awesome green light thing and can be used for aaaanything!

It would be pretty useful for a fetish movie.

I have a feeling ours will exist until IRI. After that, it will be left upstairs until the fire marshall hacks it down, somebody gets sick of it and throws it away, or we donate it to our school as a sign of gratitude for all the support they've given us over the years.

Come to think of it, it has the potential for a very cool bird cage.

90% of our robotics team is on stage crew also. it must me some sort of weird, robotics/tekie thingy. :confused:
