Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Curie is stacked pretty well. This means that Curie will most likely not win this year either.
67, 1114, 330, 118, 16, 48, 60, 234...the list goes on. (lots of other good teams, these just seem to be the best few--no particular order.) It looks like the "randomizer" was applied to division assignments. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
I actually really like these divisions...they all seem to have a balance of power.
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
wow
The moment of truth! |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
I'm feeling like John Nash here, trying to figure out the pattern in this distribution. Is there some deterministic algorithm they used here, or is there some element of randomness. In any case, the divisions look great to me... Einstein is going to be spectacular.

Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Is it just me, or did the assinment method change?
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Awesome! Will FIRST make any kind of annoucement stating that these are the official, not subject to change divisions? So much for 1, 2, 3, 4 .... assignments.

I'm pretty sure that these are official, because reg. is closed (I think?)... And they wouldn't be posted if they weren't. Jacob |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Man 1114 and 330 together... kinda like 1114 and 469 last year. Could be amazing.
Someone needs guts to call the finals for these divisions. |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
I think Galileo looks to be the stacked one, but they seem to be way more even than they have in passed years.
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
What are the power houses for Galileo?

3 of the 5 Israeli teams are in Newton...
I would put an eye on 1574 and 1657 They both have great robots! |

Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
It is like they used the scheduler randomizer to pick the divisions. Most of the time it goes 1, 2, 3 ,4 and you get the partners you expect, but every once in a while there is a hiccup (and you go again with one match rest :ahh: ). I can't help but think this is some curveball Dave made up to keep Division selections interesting. :D

Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
RPI and video links, coming tonight. Hopefully. Depends how much coding I can get done before HW starts owning me.
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Yep, Galileo does look like it's going to have some really great competion. 84 is in that division, and they have a very soild robot.
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
I duno how to feel, we are in curie. It seems like a lot of the popular teams from MI / Canada are there. nothing to worry about though ;)
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
These divisions are all pretty even which is AWESOME! Now nobody can really say that any division is that much better than the others. But as far as I'm concened, Galileo doesn't look that shabby...
25 45 65 70 116 173 191 217 229 237 279 461 1126 2056 |

Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
hmm Newton seems alright... 190 won svr, 987 lv finalist, & spyder 1622. sounds good nuff for me... though those are the only other 'bots i know of...
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Here's hoping we can take care of all of Galileo's lifting needs.
Please form two lines and wait your turn, thanks. :) |

Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Oh this is so cool, it's still missing some teams though (to let some know). Mainly because yes, confirmation of a team's attendance is past due, paying the registration fee isn't, so the ones who haven't paid, aren't up there yet. Like us. :D

Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
No one has said anything about Newton... so I will... I'm happy to be with 75... they are usually pretty good :)
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Anyone else look at Curie and cringe in horror at the alliances that could come out of that division? Talk about stacked.
Newton is no walk in the park either. |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Galileo has 1712, too ...
"randomizer" hasn't done too bad |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Curie is going to be fun! "Eclectic and hectic", indeed.

if i was to rate them this is how it would go
Curie Galileo Newton Archemedes |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
dont forget about the NJ winning alliance...103 and 25 are in galileo...it would be pretty sweet to have 1302 with us as well, NJ champions at work in Atlanta...hahaha....well good luck everyone! it's gonna be a blast!
(i hope they set up the fields like they did last year and the years past...so us teams in galileo dont have to pull our robots as far...hehehe) |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
Well, this year we are in Newton.
I hope we'll do well (actually Im quite sure we will....) You'd better all watch it... See you in a week! Guy |

Well, maybe when the "fix" the scheduling algorithm, we will see this alliance happen ;). I think that there is still the potential for some good coordinated autonomous scoring in Curie. It could be the best division for that. |

Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
This means 498 will be in Curie for the 4th time in the 4 times we've gone to the Championship, geez.
Looks to be like a fun division, I'm dreading some of the match schedules that could come out of this. |
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
I don't know about everyone else, but I can't wait to leave for the Championship now! I think being in the Curie Division will be "the hardest fun you'll ever have.":D
|
Re: Official 2007 Championship Divisions
I think my team was a little on the bad luck...we have our two regional winner with 123 in Pitt and Det...not in our division....and neither of our other two teammates.. 337 nor 903....are in our division...its down but I hear our number being thrown around......we are the power house defense looking to standout above the rest...with our ramp
