Championship Wireless Internet
Although I am unsure about internet access at the actual Georgia Dome or GWCC, I know that Autodesk will have computers set up for access, and there will be a Sundial network.
However, the intent of this thread is to establish which hotels have wireless, for how much, and how to avoid this. So please, share your personal experiences with wireless at various hotels, so people know whether or not to expect having the internet. Team 177 stayed at the Hyatt Regency in the Peachtree Center last year, which had wireless (or maybe wired/both) available for something like $10 a day. Being the ingenuitive students we are, some quick NetStumbling found that a couple of corners on our floor had wireless access, but more importantly, when out on the balcony from the side or front of the building, we were able to pick up the free wireless connection of a Cafe accross the street (they have good muffins too). It was a weak connection, but it worked for CD browsing and divisional rankings. This year we are staying at the Marriott Downtown. Does anyone have experience with the situation there? |

We will be setting up an n-hotspot, with encryption, so if anyone else staying in Embassy Suites Buckhead wants the pass, PM me. Not too sure how helpful this will be if you are on a different floor, but hey, I'd thought I'd offer. Jacob |

Also, thanks for that info. It'll be useful for when I want to blog or check CD or FIRST's website for updates. |
Re: Championship Wireless Internet
What ever hotel/motel your staying at should have a website with the information your looking for. :D
I know the Days Inn does have internet broadband... don't remember what it cost but get the feeling it was free with the room. |
Re: Championship Wireless Internet
All i have to say is i LOVE my Sprint Wireless Broadband modem... runs near or at DSL speed in most places, even doing 80 (ehhh 70  ) down the highway.
The modems arent that bad of deal if you get them through your place of work, just ask at your sprint/verizon/cingular store, whichever you choose, they all have a reasonable speed... as a reference, sprint and verizon run neck and neck, and cingular isnt much slower. -q |
