Another question about the bonus ringers. Will they be keepers that can't be spoiled or regular ringers that can be spoiled?

They will be regular ringers that can be spoiled.

The ringers will be placed by the referee between autonomous and operator control. Also note that the bonus ringers are RINGERS, not KEEPERS.

If anyone is teamless and staying over night between friday evening and saturday, I seem to need to get a hotel room, and I would love to have someone to share with. If anyone is interested, send me a PM or an email (theatregirl1122@gmail.com) (I need to room with a girl, though. My mother is paying for me this time around, so she makes the rules)

I am also looking for a couch or room split (or something similar) for at least Friday night, perhaps Saturday as well if there's demand. Gender is irrelevant (to me, at least). Hit me with a PM if you're interested.

Attention teams!! The BattleCry Ready Reserve has been depleted so if you sign up now you may have a chance at attending the Northeast's premier offseason event!

Register here: BattleCry@WPI 8 Web Registration System. Tell your friends!

Ready reserve teams will be contacted in the order they signed up once an opening arises. Just over 1 week until the fun commences!

I'm looking to trade a team 237 T-shirt any size S through XL for an official BC8 T-shirt you get with registration if anyone is interested since my team won't be competing this year, but a few of us will be there on Saturday only. PM me.

GAH!! Not competing, and missing Andy's special gameshow friday night!!!
Oh the humanity!!!!!! :ahh:
But..meh..
Gotta see some awesome seniors on 237 graduate Friday night! w00t!

Just hoping here, is anyone going to BattleCry via Boston? My train arrives that morning at South Station, and I'm hoping to find someone to hitch a ride with instead of, well, getting on yet another train. (Granted, a one-hour ride is nothing compared to the two tenish-hour rides before it, but still.)

Hello,

Just wondering how the autonomous bonus will be applied if both alliances score keepers in the same vertical row? It would be amazing to see this situation occur.

;)

Roger kind of touched on this one, with no answer:

My question about the robot blocking the leg wasn't answered either.

How about this question: What happens if two keepers from the same alliance are scored on the same column? Is the alliance pretty much gypped and only gets one bonus ring?

My guess is that these will be addressed at the event. All of them are pretty unlikely except for the robot blocking the leg question.

2 cents.

Is that a challenge? <hey! no raised eyebrow smilie!>

Yeah, I'd be amazed too.

Sorry, I misunderstood the situation you set up. (Not that I'm supposed to be answering these questions!) I'm sure there is enough give in the spider leg to push it and squeeze a tube on. Maybe they'll take a popped tube and drape it on. Or play "let's pretend we got one here."

I tell you what, whytheheckme, you make sure you get your robot to do your situation, and I'll get my robot to do me and Rob's. Let's really give the ref's some headaches. (But don't tell WPI so to give them a heads up.)

I've made it all the way to Boston South Station now. I'm not having good luck with trains this trip (four hours late leaving Columbia, five hours late getting to DC, getting on a Metro train that conked out a few stops from where I was to meet a friend, a less-than-sleep-inducing spot on the Regional to Boston that I nearly missed on account of a slow Metro trip back to Union Station), but I'm hoping the commuter train to Worcester will be kinder to me.

I'm officially ready to Rack 'n Roll (as soon as I dig out my closed-toe shoes).

You guys need to think outside the box...id say its totally plausible to see 2 teams score on the same row vertically on the side of the rack.

You are a MAN on a MISSION! (some should document your adventures and travels)
I hope you are heading up to Manchester for next week.

Ah, but I was! ;) Can't give away strategy before a meet, and all.

Well, I didn't do the "think" part -- 1629 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2kuUp9Rvw8) did all that and inspired me. We had the code to do it but didn't have a place to test it. The spirit was willing but the robot was weak -- or something.

Bilfred -- South Station has internet connections? Gosh, it's really been a while since I've been there.....

Roger.
