Yeah, they have wireless, but last I checked it wasn't free. The free wireless network there gave some history of South Station and the area.

I was there on Thursday and was able to get free wireless.

As for backside rack scoring, I didn't personally see it, but I heard 1124 did it during a practice match. They never ran it during an official match though.

And if we were sure it would have worked more often, we would have used it more :)
actually, we did it a couple times in Atlanta as well.

good job the the winning alliance btw

We also would have used it more often if the risk of breaking the robot by having it smash into a robot scoring on the other end of the field weren't so high...

my favorite autonomous is still GUS's awesome Drive-by Autonomous. It worked a lot more often at this competition than at Beantown Blitz.

So other than Andy and Jess who else won at Battle Cry, did any one get the alliances written down. At least who won and who were the finalists.

A few minor tweaks to the PID-loop code later, we were achieving >50% success rate for our autonomous mode at BattleCry8.
(Which is pretty good, when you consider how often most robots who use the CMUcam for autonomous aren't able to score.) :)

Winning alliance was 1153, 1685, 271
Finalists were (I think): 40, 121, 562

I have all the alliance pairings if anyone wants.

The alliance pairings are all listed at http://www.wpi.edu/News/Events/BattleCry/results.html (with the exception of the #1 seeded alliance of 1124, 190, and 2104, which didn't compete in the 8th finals)

That was my fear. We actually have a far-side autonomous and it probably would have worked. But at the end I'm glad we didn't -- at the bitter end it looked like the other alliance finally realized we were doing the same thing every time and went to full ramming speed. Actually might have helped us a little, knocking us in the right direction. I was the adult on our field team and I don't remember. I'm waiting for the videos so I can see it again. I am so not good at sports...

Just out of curiousity, when are the videos going to be posted? No rush -- well, within reason.

Well, the problem isn't that we have too few people to do it, it's more that each match takes about an hour of editing to get it down to the final hosted product. It takes a while no matter what we do. There's likely going to be little done in the next couple days, because we're all still recovering. Once we get into full-swing, everybody can expect the videos to come up in a reasonable amount of time.
Then everyone can see what a good job Peggy did with the live match video swapping (changing camera views and whatnot).

Apparently you do... and do you INCORRECTLY!
When in New England, wicked is an adverb, not an adjective!

Ex. "Wicked Awesome" not "Awesomely Wicked"
