Re: What Is The Best/Worst Type of Candy?

I have to say that Americans are deprived of amazing Canadian candy like Cherry Blasters, Aero, Crunchies, Fuzzy Peaches etc. all of which are absolutely delicious.

I'd say that the worst thing ever to come into the name of candy is the really cheap chocolate you get at like a dollar store or something. Its not real chocolate, it actually has no taste. It's just disgusting.

Re: What Is The Best/Worst Type of Candy?

Best:
1. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Close 2. Raisinets (or really any chocolate-covered raisins)
3. Hershey Cookies and Cream Bars

Worst:
1. Reverse Reese's (had them once at Hershey Park (I think), they made me gag)
2. Anything with a creme filling
3. Dark chocolate (not my cup of tea)

Best:

Strawberry shoe string "licorice" laces
Gobstoppers
Peanut butter M&Ms

Worst:

Chunky candybars (ick, raisins!)
Black licorice anything
Candy Buttons (made by Necco), you know, those hard candy dots on sheets of paper that you bite off and eat along with the paper still stuck to the back of them... yuck!

Alright.... pretty good list with the reeses and whatchamacallits, but you went way off track with the candy corns.... Candy corn is solid vomit. It is one of the most god offal candies created by man.... I don’t think that I can even describe the taste besides saying it tastes like garbage.... It kind of has like a buttery kick at the end that no "sugary" candy should have unless it is chocolate. I have to put this out there.... I think that we need to start a thread talking about why candy corn is so bad, and I am sure it would get a lot of attention.... Candy corn ranks up there with black liquorish which is equally as offal. Anyways...... Yah dude everything besides the candy corn... That stuff is friggin offal!

While I'm not sure I'd give candy corn a top-three ranking, I find them rather addicting in the fall. Especially the ones that have a good separation between colors so you can eat the little white piece off the top then the yellow and save the brown for last.

And the different shapes are good too - pumpkins in the fall - I tormented my kids at Easter by buying a bag in Easter animal shapes- bunnies, chicks, duckies - all yummy, and all mine apparently after their reactions! :]

I think your critique is just a little harsh - but I know who to trick or treat with now... I also really like necco wafers and I'm not too fond of crunch bars so we could divvy the candy up quite well.

Now that is the right way to go.... Add candy corn to the worst, and you are pretty much my favorite post so far..... (aka I think that you have great tastes in candy)

Re: What Is The Best/Worst Type of Candy?

I personally love candy corn. The only thing I dont like about it is that its almost impossible to get them other than around Halloween. I was really happy to find some for Easter this year.

Its hard to pick a top 2, I'd take almost anything not in my bottom three.

Bottom 2:
Anything with raisins
Any combination one wouldn't expect to have for candy (one Halloween I got a PB&J bar)
