Dashboard

Is there anyway to connect a computer to the dashboard port on the OI to get sensor feedback (such as value of pots) instead using printf and hooking up the computer to the Robot Controller? Much thanks for any advice.

Re: Dashboard

IFI has a Dashboard Program which retrieves data from the OI and the RC through the DB9 Dashboard port on the OI. There is also a Jumper that decides which data is sent and recieved through that port as well. By Default it's set to OI but you can move the jumper over to get the data from the RC instead.

Re: Dashboard

You can also use the LabView Program as a Dashboard Viewer.

Also you can write your own program to display the data from the dashboard that is better formatted for your team's individual robot.

Re: Dashboard

Getting such feedback from the robot is exactly what the Dashboard connection is for. You have access to six "user bytes" in the code that will be sent over the link from the robot, and you can put whatever you want in them.

If you need more than six bytes of sensor feedback information, you can "borrow" unused pwm outputs and use them to send more bytes of data to the dashboard (note that they won't display a value of 255).

You can also use the dashboard app written by seanwitte.
